While everyone looks for ways to minimize Bama's accomplishment, McCoy was not out with the flu. They knocked him out. He got smacked by a Bama guy and could not return. In boxing that's a knockout. Except it's not boxing, and you don't win the game by knocking players out of the game, you win by scoring more points. And it's not minimizing Alabama's win to say there's a decent chance they don't win if McCoy doesn't get knocked out of the game. Actually you apparently do win games by knocking out players and scoring more points. My point is just if Mccoy turned an ankle at practice or caught the flu, Bam,a caught a break. When bama sent him off they made their break.

Tuberville to TX Tech, Long list of names for USF
USC Jeff Fisher and Sarkisian ruled out Mike Riley, Herm Edwards, Del Rio and Gruden possible
also rumored Carroll wants Norm Chow with him in Seattle, not Bates

looks like bates to seattle after all. sneaky pete pulling his best calipari and getting out before the ncaa hammer comes down. word is usc is in for major violations for the football program. the team that benefits most? florida may scoop up usc decommit kyle prater and former usc lean sentreal henderson. ucla may also snatch up some of the usc recruits.

Seantrel Henderson was NOT going to USC at any point. Ohio State has been in lead--afterall Jim Tressel's niece has been tutoring him-she attends my alma mater and we've often helped local HS kids prep for standardized tests and with their homework. Henderson's HS is 5 mintues from my college--and Tressel's brother was Head Football Coach there.

shouldn't all this "coaching talk" ... or should I say, "speculation" be on the dedicated thread for the coaching ... oh, nevermind. We've been through this before. And my point has already been supported and even validated by the powers that be, I think I will find a better place to take a stand.
(Still, I am allowed a mild chuckle along the way ... aren't I? ... hee hee hee ... OK, so I'm no Mel Blanc)

oh javin snead what could have been Sorry about the very late reply, but I did think about the same thing. Still, "at least" he is going pro ... Jevon Snead ... I'm talking about. In all seriousness, I think that the Texas program is in solid hands for a couple of years.

1. Wow. Didn't see that coming. UT must be feeling like the jilted bride. Guess all those recruits might be finding a way off of Rocky Top.
2. As pretty as some of the UT hostesses are, I don't imagine USC has any shortage of nice looking coeds on its campus.

Well that's a shocker.
I guess we will see if recruiting criminals is a Tennessee problem or a Kiffin problem

There are apparently riots happening right now in Knoxville That's what I've heard. According to a UT alum friend, the football players are none too happy. There was also a fire alarm at FedEx Forum in Memphis...disgruntled fans perhaps?

Congratulations, Tennessee. You're the new Alabama! Now, who will your Mike Shula be....?
Seriously, there have got to be some Tide fans wearing "Fat Phil Loves to Squeal" t-shirts out there tonight thinking karma sure is a bitch.

I like the juxtaposition between PhillyHoya's sig file and the news she posted.

lane kiffin, monte kiffin, norm chow, and ed orgeron. that's quite a staff. i can't see usc losing many recruits now. the ncaa might as well buy property in so cal. looks like they'll be there for a while.

As for USC:
Good short, short term hire. Don't see transfers or losing much of the recruiting class.
Good short term hire. Monte and if they get Chow have the X's and O's, and I can't blame Kiffin for his first two stops.
I'm less bullish about the long term. I doubt Chow sticks around all that long. And Orgeron will get another HC job. And I'm not sold on Kiffin long term.

Last thing: why the moral outrage on Kiffin? Is stealing another team's HC only acceptable when it isn't from a BCS school?
