Actually no one in New Orleans or South Louisiana or South Mississippi is relating this to Katrina. It is the rest of the country that identifies them with nothing else. The people down there are talking about the fact that to win a Super Bowl they have to go through Favre and Manning, two local heroes. So Peyton (and I assume Eli) are local heroes in New Orleans just because they are Archie's sons? Manning's charity also sends a fair amount of money to NOLA organizations.

Both Peyton and Eli contributed time and money to Katrina relief efforts too. They were some of the first people helping out down there.

Thank you Colts (because as a Giants fan I would be convicted for murdering far too many Jets fans had they won). Now Saints, DO YOUR JOB. I cannot take any more Brett Favre talk. If the Vikes win I'll have to give up TV altogether (except Hoyas games of course) for the next 2 months.

Glad the Vikings found a new way to choke away an NFC Championship game. I would have been disappointed if they'd just copied one of their other choke jobs.

So, I guess Childress doesn't run the "hold on to the ball" drill during his practices...might be worth looking into.

That blown challenge on the Brees fumble is going to bite the Saints in the ass.

Nothing says Favre like a last minute interception.

You know how when a game is really tough and close and people say it's a shame someone has to lose? Well, this game... it's a shame someone has to win.
BOTH teams have made incredibly dumb moves, fumbles, interceptions, blown opportunities. Neither team deserves to win this one.

Brett Favré dies the way he lived - throwing a completely unnecessary interception.

Vikings fans are just like Packers fans now. They know how it is to have Favre take your team through the regular season, destroy that team's chemistry, and throw away the game with an INT at the end of the game. Like Packers fans this year, they also know what it's like to get absolutely jobbed by the refs (that pass interference play that put the Saints in FG range was BS), and have your heart ripped out in OT.

Honestly, this might be one of the dumbest things I've ever read. Vikings' fans didn't need Favre to know about choking in the most painful ways possible (in OT, by 41 points, on a last second Hail Mary or in any other way), and I sure as hell have never felt sorry for the poor people in Green Bay b/c they had to root for a team that has won three Super Bowls, no matter how badly the Packers have choked since. Christ. Packers fans are the dumbest fan base in the country. The only reason that they're better than Cuse fans is that they can also root for Georgetown.

Mardi Gras just came three weeks early. Might as well roll out the floats because the productivity level of the state of Lousiana is now officially at a standstill. And they say there's no divine intervention in football games...

I am a lifelong Saints fan, was there on opening day in 1967, so I am elated, but I feel bad for Favre. Yes, he through a pick but his gutsy throws tied the game and then got them into field goal position before the stupid 12-in-the-huddle penalty.
Payton and Brees are lucky. Payton called a bad second half and Brees did almost nothing after the first drive of the second half. One good drive by the Saints would have ended the game in the 4th quarter.
If Viking fans think Favre cost them anything they are morons. They probably would not have been in the playoffs without Favre.

Favre's interception was one of many reasons the Vikings lost this game, but pretty much everyone on the offense and Childress are to blame for the Vikings loss.

Ed, TBird, hard to "RANT" when you know the HILLBILLY KING is always going to come through for you--he makes my point for me, time and time again. This guy is the biggest phony piece of FECES playing the position--and media just hides the awful decisions. Can anyone imagine the type of ridicule that Tony Romo would've had endured if he made that last throw?
Seriously--this was one of the worst played championship games--both teams were gutless, afraid to win, and in the end--the bigger FRAUD made the play.
How do I hate Favre, let me count the ways--and if you are a Viking fan, a person who wanted a "Rant" from me after a Vikqueen win, here's to you and your MISERY for going to bed with the HILBILLY KING!!!!
1. Favre's FAKE injury. It was his left knee--no it's an ankle, no it's not even an injury--just a BUMPKIN PASS into triple coverage that was going to get picked and cost Queens chance at points--so better milk this crap.
2. The master of the FAKE BLOCK--Favre really tries to get his nose in those loose balls doesn't he? Where was the FAKE BLOCK on Bobby McCray--you grey bearded lying piece of excrement? EXPLETIVE FAVRE and his HORDE OF LOVERS--aka the entire media and Viking fans who bought this crap about him caring about winning--he doesn't--this was a middle finger to Packers--who are in better position long haul with Aaron Rodgers and Jets who have a better QB in Mark Sanchez as well.
3. Off topic--but where are the people who said I was a "hater" for pointing out how much Adrian Peterson fumbles the ball during the draft? You will NEVER win a championship with a guy who fumbles the ball that much---it's a joke. Thank goodness that dork Buck finally made my point public--please quit with the "I almost broke my hand from the death grip on that handshake from Adrian....his hands are so strong----"UNLESS HE CARRIES A FOOTBALL!!!
4. Back to Bumpkin Boy---nice handoff to Peterson before the half. Probably upset a running play was called. Again--did he get his nose in in there to try and get the ball back? HELL NO.
5. Has no clue who is in the huddle AFTER a timeout---moves them out of position and due to his inability to ever think of running--but then again that would just point out how much of a liar he is for faking the knee-oh wait-ankle--no it's a foot injury earlier would've been-he throws a pass a blind man would've been criticized for throwing---and has the nerve to not accept fault after the game--trying to put blame on others as his cowardly manner is/always has been.
6. Any franchise that allows Prince to make the song "Purple and Gold" public--and say "I've seen the future" after their win--needs to lose in the most painful/miserable way.
7. Like what only happens in Twin Cities--75% of the "fans" will have their Brees and Manning jerseys on for the Super Bowl--that loyal following is so great. Nothing worse then this city when a team is winning--they are so ARROGANT and nothing is more delightful then PAINFUL losses ripping their guts out. It'll be even sweeter as I play Prince's "fight song" all offseason and put it on blast as I drive around Lake Calhoun, Lake of Isles, and Lake Minnetonka. LMAO it's going to be so much fun--maybe I should get some Wranglers just for the occasion and fake limp--remember Brett--it was your left leg-not the right.
8. Getting beat by Poop Cheek Brees who played a pretty gutless game himself is awesome. He was shaky as Romo as that game ended--but officials decided someone had to win-and they gave Vikes 60 minutes worth of time/calls-it was going to change in OT and suck it Favre.
9. Favre's last pass as a Packer---INT, last pass as a Jet--INT, and last pass as a Viking--INT. 2 of those in Championship games--where big time players--and in this case supposed HOF players dominate---yet--the Hillbilly King's lone Super Bowl comes in game where a Kick Returner is MVP--and accounts for the TD's that decide the game. Kurt Warner stays a Packer and Favre goes--who has more Super Bowls? Just saying.
10. Out of the QB's who took the field today--who was the worst one on the field? I'd say Mark Sanchez outplayed Favre. I KNOW Manning did. Poop Cheek got the win--so that leaves "Our Brett"--read the poem DeAnna--please read the poem so I can weep with joy--you media seeking troll.
Now just wait--the Hillbilly Master will take his ACT into the offseason with the "I'm injured....just can't do it..." so he can skip OTA's, offseason lifting--which happens to be why you lift--so you can withstand the hits he took today and hold up better, and of course Training Camp--and then it'll come late August and "I'm back--can't end my season the way I did...." and Viking NATION will rejoice--only to forget they'll have a 1st Place schedule with physical teams on the schedule and not the GIFT the NFL gave them. Of course they always have the Prince Song to "guide them" and topping that--Peter King's BOYFRIEND will make them all rejoice as he's coming to "lead us to Dallas" and any true fan knows there is no better place for the Hillbilly King's career to end--because he NEVER WINS IN DALLAS!!! There's at least a 6-8 INT game awaiting him.
What a day--and I doubted the Saints could do this--but thank you to entire Saints Organization as the bandwagon is deflated and this hurts:
Peter King and Media Favre's "legion" of excuse makers and hype men HifiGator Peterson's excuse makers Jared Allen's following who ignore any game he gets his ass kicked but hype him after 2 games against GB Star Cap Cheaters--the lard ass Williams boys Childress
Apologies to TRUE Viking fans--like T-Bird--who does really support them--but the calling of a "hopeful" rant from me--you should've known better--KARMA is a FEMALE DOG T-Bird. My hatred is intense--but it's based on FACTS--not fiction. Favre is the biggest phony in the NFL and he's protected, hyped beyond his ability, and lied about in circles of true football where they know what a reckless, unprepared, self serving SOB he truly is--and those types get what they deserve-which is not winning. You dress up a turd all you want-it's a still a turd and smells like ....well you know the rest.
Don't fret Viking lovers--Favre will return--just expect a 8-10 loss season next year as he bows out when the hits keep coming.
SAYONARA BUMPKIN BOY---and thanks for the performance tonight--just provided the visual for what I've said for years--and there is nothing like him tasting defeat. FRAUDS get what they deserve.
