Glad to get that victory though...
West Virginia was aggressive and they shot the ball well. Good to see we can win against a team when they're playing well...
Roy had a good game...shocked that he didn't play much in the second-half...but JTIII has his reasons...and it usually results in a win...
Gotta go 2-3 down the stretch to secure that NCAA bid...

dude, there were some close calls, but please, it was toe-ing that blurred line btw aggressive defense and ticky-tack foul calls - so we got some breaks - that is just fine for me considering our karma from the past several years...
GO HOYAS!!! great win!!

Was it a consistently called game? Or did we get on refereed in our favor for once?

I agree that the officiating was definitely in our favor (at home -- imagine that!), but to read their board, it's pathetic. If the refs called the game the way their board goes, the score would be 150-0 WVU, on 150-270 FTs. Read the thing -- their apparently isn't a play down the stretch where their player wasn't "tackled" or "mauled." There were some fouls, yes, but there were a lot of good no calls both ways. We made our shots when hacked; they didn't. The only disparity really was a few ticky tack calls versus WVU (like on Fisher when Ray Reed outrebounded him). Oh, and the Pittsnogle screen where he threw his shoulder into Cook was borderline dirty. They want to talk thug -- they need to look at Pittsnogle.

Don't get me wrong...it wasn't the worst officiated game I've ever seen...But the refs did a lot to squash a lot of their momentum... If two fouls are called, we might lose that game... But our guys played well today.... JTIII did his usual...Stay close in the first half...make adjustments at half-time...put you away down the stretch...

I don't buy it. The officials (Scagliotta, Roberts, Lopes)called a fine game. The day I listen to West Virginia fans' opinions is the day I start going to GW games.

Side note: it was actually a good game to watch, Richmond @ GW...I think GW has a little bit of its swagger back and will make an impact in the tourney.

That's cool... But just because you ain't listening, don't mean they ain't telling the truth... I'll consider it. Sometime later tonight I might give their message board a look and see what they've come up with. But it's going to be a pretty hard sell based on what I saw. And as it turns out, while I was apparently watching the Big East refs perpetrate crimes of the play-on variety against West Virginia, GW scored an impressive win. Certainly seems like they've got some mojo back, but it's a steep climb they have to an appropriate RPI--they must be around 75 now, and the vast majority (possible all but 1) of their remaining opponents have RPIs in the 100s. That's the down side to being up in a down year in the A-10: the SOS doesn't help you out. But they've got the two BB&T wins to help them out Selection Sunday, and a better than decent shot at running the table in the A-10 tournament, so we'll see.

Put the kids to bed before reading it. Pales in comparison to anything we ever saw on here, including Van's Farewell Address. Shameful display from a 'Nova fan...

After reading the title of this thread two thoughts came to mind: 1. GOOD 2. ABOUT TIME Sorry if you don't like it Aggy, but the Big East is about PHYSICAL basketball and is the closest you come to NBA level of physical basketball, so some hacking won't get called. UConn got the benefit of the doubt against Hoyas earlier this season, so seeing GU get some calls is a nice change and I for one won't apologize for it. As much ACC hoops as you watch, you have the NERVE to bring this up about a Hoya basketball game?? Guess Duke or UNC never get away with anything?? I know you have been on the board and like the Hoyas, but the title of this thread means about as much to me as another ESPN feature on how CBB can't live without Duke and Carolina. It's actually nice to see III get some calls for not acting like a jerk the entire game and focusing on coaching HIS team. Not berating officials the entire game is something that should be expected of coaches but in today's game it sticks out as much as a great player. I love how the Hoya Staff COACHES their team and focuses on the game and not working the officials the whole game. If you don't like seeing GU get away with some calls, I'm sure it will even out by season's end. Afterall we've got Calhoun on the schedule again and he's a complete idiot on the sideline in terms of behavior.

And West Virginia hand checked, reached in, and set moving picks flagrantly the entire game.

I'm sorry you feel I need to be some foot-shufflin' Uncle Tom and tell you how great the Hoyas are in every one of my posts. I don't need to explain to you or nobody else on this board who my team is...I think I've made that abundantly clear. The truth is, the Hoyas got away with some calls. I'm not one of these people that believes that you win at any cost. If we got away with some calls, then we just did...Above anything, I believe in fair-play...and I think West Virginia got robbed on some calls... [EDITED - calm down and discuss without the profanity please]
