I would never claim Al Franken is uninformed. I might say "misinformed," but not uninformed.
But I'll dismiss him anyway and risk the peril.

“I didn’t mean to be disrespectful. I don’t know the guy, but … for a living he is a clown,’’ the senator said.
“That’s what he does for a living.’’
Remember Franken wrote a book titled "Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot". Whether or not you agree with his statement, to cast stones at someone who calls Franken a name is somewhat "nervy".

Considering the source, Rush probably took that as a compliment (except for the "fat" part). What's the problem?
