ESPN -- Cousins Chooses UKEXCERPT DeMarcus Cousins, the No. 4-rated player in the ESPNU 100, will follow recently hired coach John Calipari to Kentucky, his high school coach told ESPN.com on Tuesday.
"He told me tonight he's going to Kentucky," said Otis Hughley of LeFlore High School in Mobile, Ala.

That would be a heck of a front line if Orton and Patterson stay as well
If Meeks sticks around and a few of the other recruits follow....UK will be contending next year

This has to help with the recruitment of Latvious. It looks like Kentucky is not an option now.

Go Big Blue!! UK brings in John Wall as well and this could be one of the most talented starting 5s in recent memory if everyone comes back: Meeks, Patterson, Orton, Cousins and Wall.
pg - Wall sg- Meeks Sf- Patterson pf - Cousins c- Orton
wow!! and a great bench too!! good times in Lexington!

cousins still has to qualify but he should get it done. orton may still go there. it will be interesting to see what he does. he and cousins are different kind of bigs and i think they can play on the court at the same time. orton may be waiting to see what patterson does.

Patterson is not a small forward. Orton would come off the bench if that scenario plays out.

This has to help with the recruitment of Latvious. It looks like Kentucky is not an option now. But Memphis became more of an option

I can't see Pat and Meeks coming back esp with all the talent coming in. Clean break.

you don't think they'd want to come back with the very real possibility of winning a championship next year? Didn't patterson mention he wanted to come back somewhere?

Not enough balls plus egos and such. Maybe, but imo, he and or Meeks are gone.

neither are hiring agents and Callipari's style of offense is perfectly suited for Meeks. I think Patterson bolts if he can get a 1st round grade otherwise looks like UK is a final four LOCK

orton seeking a release. he would be perfect for us with his size....... That's true, but what are the odds he's going to come to a program that doesn't pay his dad for speaking engagements like UK did?

hahaha. believe me fellas i know. more wishful thinking on my part. like RDF said oklahoma or OSU could land him. also west coast schools like usc/ucla.
some speculation that solomon hill may ask out. he's been considering kentucky. of course nolan dennis just asked out as well and wants to go to kentucky. but they are similar players. nolan decommitting is interesting b/c he is a texas kid and supposedly pastner's guy. being a great recruiter is one thing but kids still want to play for a name that has a track record. also been hearing pastner might be trying to get baylor's lead recruiter as an assistant--the guy handling latavious' recruitment- but this is not defnite at all. thing is that pastner already is known as the texas guy so i don't know if this is a play solely to get latavious or not.
like RDF said....this is all very interesting. i can't think of another time that had this much craziness in terms of coaching changes/recruits moving at such top places.

agree RDF. thats why i was surprised memphis--which wants be a team capable of winning NC- would hire a guy with ZERO head coaching experience. i know the kid is a tireless worker and has a good rep but u are right.....to make a jump to HC is a little too much. not saying he won't be great but it is a huge unknown. more importantly, it is an unknown to recruits. still, sounds like this move has been able to allow memphis to keep its current players-but that is short term benefit only. i also love how memphis now thinks this guy is the answer.......to bad he became the answer only when pitino, dixon, floyd, pearl, drew all said no.....and i'm sure there were more. pastner was the last resort type of choice.
i doubt he kept WWW's drawls clean enough......mike gilchrist has taken Memphis OFF his list hahhaa
i agree about latavious. i see this being best fit for him. better/stronger competition, better coaching, elite league. etc all the reasons we know about. to get recruited by pastner is one thing...but to be coached by him is another thing all together.

Lance is not on Reke's level. A bullish cat that needs to add elements for college.
