To be honest I will be on the BC bandwagon tonight. I guess im concerned if we end up splitting with ND and we both end up on the bubble a BC win for ND would be good for the resume when comparing us with them.
Obviously if we beat ND at their place then it probably won't matter.
Also I would give anything to see Clemson take down G.Tech and V.Tech beat Maryland tonight. Oh boy would the ACC be squirming. Not saying that would eliminate either team from them having a chance to dance but it would make it a lot harder.
Oh and one other thing. Chris Thomas is the most overrated player in the country. He honestly was a better talent and prospect as a freshman and sophmore then as a junior and senior. What the hell happened to him?

Couldn't agree more. Hate to say it, but I even cheered for Syracuse to win against UCONN last night. At this point, I'm so excited about a possible NCAA berth I could care less who I have to cheer for to make it happen. We need ND to keep losing.
I suppose i could always cheer for the meteorite though...
Chris Thomas is a poster child for college players leaving early. He probably would have gone late 1st round on potential alone his freshman year. Guaranteed money. Now he's borderline 2nd round. Kinda makes me think of Joe Forte. Everyone says he was a bust, but he made some serious money.

I'm not saying he (Thomas) should have made the jump. I'm just saying he would have been a first round draft pick. And other players see his example, get skittish, and head to the L whether they are ready or not.

Plus, how are we supposed to hand BC their first loss of the season in the BE tournament if they lose to ND?

Agree with all.... I'm for whomever will get us into the Dance.
That said, if we take care of business it won't matter about our RPI. We play 3 good teams and 3 mediocre teams remaining. That's enough toughness for us to have a good schedule and still get some Ws.

Pitt 17-SJU 15 at the half. This brings new meaning to ugly basketball.

Clemson's up 35-27 on Georgia Tech. That'd be a nice win for our rpi.

Is there any other team who underperforms more than Georgia Tech. After all the hype they got, they have had a terrible year, a loss tonight will make 8 on the season. I still can't beleive they got 110+ AP votes. Ridiculous.
By the way, keep an eye on Michigan, up 4 at the half.
Go Hoyas!

The announcers on the BC-ND game were discussing Chris Thomas' mysterious decline as he got older and then they threw out this gem "he's one of the best players in ND history and in the history of the BE".
Naturally my roommate and I did a double take. Honestly, would he even be one of the top 50 players in the history of the BE? Did anyone else hear this? I mean, cmon, it's the BIG @#$%#@$ EAST!

I'm rooting so hard for bc at the moment(ewwww), if nd wins and is respectable the rest of the way out they're in. Nova already has their marquee win over kansas and it would be bad news if nd could have a win over bc on their resume.

Considering I'm currently a grad student at BC, nothing would please me more than to have these idiot ACC-wannabes who know nothing about college hoops and were nowhere to be found last year in support of BC, lose for the first time this year. As such, today is the first time in the history of BuffaloHoya that I've rooted for any Notre Dame team. Ever. This is it. I can't believe it. Go Irish.
My BOY Rafferty just said what JT3 was doing was "unbelieveable." Yay.

Tonight, I'm rooting for: Clemson (obviously as it helps our RPI, plus a Clemson win would officially drop GTech onto the bubble)
ND (they're borderline top 50, and it would give us another quality win, plus we play them twice, so it helps our RPI, especially if we beat them at the Joyce Center)
Rutgers (we play them twice)
St. John's (we play them twice, and while it would drop Pitt out of the "quality win" category, it would also give the hoyas another leg up in conference standings)
Va Tech (because I hate the ACC, plus Maryland would continue to fall in NCAA chances -- while Va Tech really has no chance of getting in given their record and non-conference slate)
Essentially, as long as we keep winning, it's better to have the NDs, Novas, and UConns win their games, as if we take care of business on the next time through, it will be a huge boon in quality wins.
I'm routing against BC and Cuse for the rest of the season, because while we are probably not competing with them for tourney slots 3-6 (or 7?), we have a decent shot at going 11-5 on the season, and that'll be even better if there are no teams at 14-2 or 15-1.

I agree that we wanted BC to lose. The chances of the last at large bid coming down to GU and ND are slim, and this win by ND makes our win against them look better. And that's what we need: Quality wins. We have three right now and if ND fades we'll be stuck with two, or even one if Pitt slides. Also, BC are back-stabbing back-stabbers of the highest order.

Perhaps I'm crazy, but I don't think the selection committee will be limiting the BE to six teams if seven appears justified. I can understand rooting for BC because a Notre Dame free fall would be one less team for us to compete against (so much for that), but if we can win 4 of our last 6 (no small order), we will be in , regardless of what any other team in the country does. Plus, if we can now beat the Irish in South Bend, the win will be that much more impressive because they knocked off BC.
