I never thought I'd say this but... thanks Villanova. In the last three days you have done exactly what I wanted you to do. I appreciate it. Now can I go back to hating them? Not until they beat Providence in their next game...

Call me crazy, but I'm starting to think maybe Brey won't win it this year.

Pat Garrity- what a joke that he got '97 POY over Victor- I am still mad about that!
I agree that 'Nova's win tonight really helps the Hoyas. ND is not totally out of it but they are very close to it, and will be behind the Hoyas probably if we win the next three.

ND's out: Here's food for thought:
Team 1 Record: 17-14 RPI: 69 SoS: 53 Top 50: 3-9 L10: 5-5 R/N: 5-10
ND Record: 15-13 RPI: 69 SoS: 46 Top 50: 3-11 L10: 4-6 R/N: 5-10
So who is team 1? The Hoyas in 2000.
Anyone remember how far we were from the tournament in 2000? Yeah, that's what I thought.

I dont think the outcome of this game can be understated. It seems as though the committee would probably be willing to make a reach for one team in the Big East with a subpar conference record given its strength, and now Georgetown has an opening to be that team. Whereas if Notre Dame won, and won their next two games, I really didn't see how Georgetown would be able to get a bid over them (even though the committee is not supposed to take conference affiliation into account like that). Also, this makes Georgetown's win over 'Nova on Sat that much more impressive. I think now 2 wins + 2 in BET makes us 100% and 2 wins + 1 win in BET makes us 90%.

Not until they beat Providence in their next game... I think we're pretty much cheering for every Big East team that's already locked up a bid at this point, especially if they're playing a bubble team. We're all Villanova fans, now.

Even if Cuse has a bid wrapped up, I could NEVER cheer for them. I don't care if they are playing the guys from Clinton Correctional, although some of them probably have been inmates there at one time or another.
