I tired inserting my screen shot (little help?), but nevertheless, the front page of ESPN currently reads "Hip, Hip, Hoya".
That was an old fashioned beat down. Greg is simply ridiculous.
EDIT: Schlick, you beat me to it.

What an outstanding game by the Hoyas! Our defense was tremendous. I hope we can can play like this the entire year. I'm really glad Monroe plays for us.

This team has fight in them that I'm just not sure last years had.
Thought Austin saved the day when Uconn closed it, and then he attacked on those few trips and converted and got to the line.
Words can't describe how big and great this win is.

Man, we just executed like a veteran team, like the way we have the last 2 years. Not only are our youngsters talented but they are precocious. They have no business responding like that on the road to the #2 team in the country with a big lead whittled down to 3. Great coaching, great playing, great great game.
No reward, of course. Now we have to defend our home court streak. But I guess we can all just revel in this one for a day or 2.

The front page of ESPN.com is so pretty right now. HIP, HIP HOYA! Just going to post that.....very nice front page right now!!! This was a great game for many reasons. Starting this tough stretch with a win is HUGE--gives us confidence and takes off the pressure that might build if we were to have lost the first 2-3. Now we take them one at a time knowing we knocked off what is supposed to be the "big dog" of the league....on their floor.....in a pretty dominating fashion. We'll have our losses this season, but this game really has me excited to see what this team can do. If, as EVRYONE keeps saying, Vaughn and/or Sims (preferably both!) can blossom as the season goes on.....we will be incredibly tough. I do like that Vaughn played VERY hard and despite a few "eh" plays, didn't hurt us too bad with Greg out. And I have to say--Greg and Chris are FUN to watch!!! Lovin this team!! Let's take down Pitt next!!! Should be a war.

Bilas said it best, Georgetown is not scared of UConn.........why would we be, were the Beast of the Big East.
I don't care what our ranking is or the other teams, the Big East regular season title has to be pried from our cold dead fingers.

We looked like the poised, veteran #2 team in the nation under a hall of fame coach, not UConn. Just an incredible performance.

Another favorite Bilas quote of mine, and I don't think I have it exactly, but:
"UConn(victs) came for a game, Georgetown came for a fight"

How about Big Hash, pulling a disappearing act worthy of D.B. Cooper.

Fantastic Win!! Did anyone else notice after that great backdoor pass by Monroe, when Monroe started to celebrate, Summers immediately stopped him, apparently saying we're not done yet? What great poise and toughness.

The Syracuse boards are all over Thabeet, calling him the second coming of Luther Wright.
If you're 7-3 and only score four points, you don't win style points with the NBA scouts.

I've taken quite the beating over the last few days, but now I hope people know why some of us are so confident with this team.
We have, simply put, one of the best starting five's in the country. We may not have great depth, but any one of our first five can take over a game. That's something that's extremely, extremely rare to have in college basketball.
Chris is one of the top two point guards in the league and he proved it tonight, with Flynn being the other one. Dajuan, this year's dajuan, is a nightmare of a matchup for any power forward in the league. Greg just simply took Thabeet apart, better than Hibbert ever did. Freeman is one of the best pure offensive talents in the league.
But the reason I was so confident, and so angry at the general feeling here the last few days that this game would be so tough to win, is that these kids have HEART. Thabeet blocked some shots, but we took it to that cat for 40 minutes and never backed down.
I thought there was no way they could keep Chris out of the lane. I suspected that Thabeet couldn't deal with Greg. And while Adrien had a big game, Dajuan went wild on the other end of the floor.
The biggest mismatch, though? It was on the sidelines. JTIII coached circles around Calhoun, it was genius the way he dealt with Greg's foul trouble. Julian provided great minutes. He had a few bad turnovers, but defensively he was great, and he really played hard while he was in there. Jason was very, very solid as well.
This has the potential to be a great team. We have a very scary first five. We'll lose some along the way, but we have great pieces, and honestly I'm not surprised by the win. I'm shocked at the WAY we won, but not surprised at all that we came out on top.

Fluid at times, physical at times, gritty on D and never backed down on offense. Just beautiful. Poise poise poise, lead cut to 3 and they don't blink, just keep on playing like they know they can.

Tremendous game today. UConn was simply no match for us when Greg was on the floor. And it could have been even worse if Greg didn't get tagged with 2 just awful calls in the first half Yes, I know a lot of you disagreed with me when I said Monroe didn't seem like a player who would get into foul trouble much this season because of his smarts, but I don't think anyone can dispute those first two calls being total BS. Silver lining though: the fouls limited his minutes somewhat so he should be fresher for Pitt.
Great games from all of the starters. All of them played tough defense and TOOK CARE of the basketball. Stellar shooting from 3 and the line. Wright pretty much got to the rim whenever he wanted (which will be the case all year), and we ATTACKED the rim relentlessly in the 2nd half, which makes us nearly impossible to beat if we maintain that level of aggressiveness. I was pleasantly surprised to see that NOBODY was intimidated by the UConn frontline. Dajuan's challenge on Thabeet late in the game was just as Bilas said, a flat out STATEMENT.
Omar played very smart tonight. Knew he was in there to defend and did a fantastic job. Clark contributed with some positive plays and continues to progress. Vaughn still scares the hell out of me, though. He had one nice tip-in and forced a travel on D, but was outmuscled for just about every loose ball and had two very poor turnovers that I could recall. And I don't want him shooting that three. Really, I'm not sure how UConn failed to capitalize against Vaughn more than they did.
Awesome job by III that others have already touched upon. Offense-for-defense substitution for Greg in the second half was masterful. Very reminiscent of him doing the same for Jeff in the Duke game 3 years ago, but for a much more extended period of time tonight.
GREAT JOB GUYS! TIME TO GET READY FOR PITT!

I won't hit on all the points many will hit on. A very complete game and really fun to watch. What I am continually impressed by is the poise this team has and the decision making when to push and then keep their patience when things do not present themselves.
A great win. Tremendous job by our Hoyas. On to Pitt...

What a great win! I missed the first half due to bad dinner management, but wow!!!! From what I saw in the 2nd half, I couldn't believe it. UCONN helped with their sloppy play by putting us to the line and the boys did their job of hitting the FT's. I'm still worried about our rebounding but against those trees not much we could do. I believe it was Bilas who said something along the lines of "Georgetown is such a balanced team, the go-to guy is the one that's open" (thx tihoya!) I think my favorite part was the driving we did , especially Summers and cutting down on 3pt shots. Opened up so many shots.
