Can we please stop impugning the name of a very talented and ahead-of-their-time band out of Akron by referring to this waste of space by the name "Devo"?
Thank you very much.
Look at you with your community serving Look at you with your bench sitting Why don't we just admit it's all over She's just the girl you punched.
She's just the girl, just the girl... The girl you punched!

Bunch of hypocrites. Here's what Boeheim is quoted as saying in the Seth Davis article: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After sifting through all of that information, Boeheim paints a much different picture than the one described by Kimberly Smith. "There are three witnesses who said Eric did not touch anybody, did not hit anybody. The five-person student panel chose not to believe those witnesses. I do," he said. "They all said basically the same thing. The girl got out of the car, then she started yelling at Eric. Eric yelled back, the girl approached Eric, got right up next to him, they were yelling at each other, Eric pushed her away in the chest area, one time, and then walked away. Okay? That's the information I have."
Now that the punishment has been reduced (or eliminated), everyone is singing a different tune. From the syracuse.com article: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Said Coach Jim Boeheim: "Eric clearly made a mistake and should be punished. It is his responsibility to fulfill the requirements of this decision."
The hearing board determined that Devendorf did intentionally hit Smith but did not cause her physical harm, according to its decision.

Two things from ESPN.com that Edited me off:
First, the headline on the front page: "Syracuse G Devendorf suspended indefinitely."
If that's not the most misleading headline ever... Is the length of the suspension indeifnite? Technically, yes. But unless you're Rick Pitino and Derrick Caracter, wouldn't you think of an "indeifnite" suspension of being more than 2-6 games?
Second, the first comment that appears on the story page, from EdBNHNY: "Credit goes to SU for not sweeping this mess under the rug because of Devendorf's stature on the team. "
Really, yeah, lots of credit to SU for giving him less than a slap on the wrist. And how, by god, could the program have swept this under the rug even if they wanted to?
I hope this punk's first game back is against GU and I hope the crowd is allowed to get on this guy's ass and ride him the whole game.

He can apply for readmittance? Does that mean he automatically gets readmittance? No matter. Syracuse has ALWAYS sucked. Now even the Cuse "students" know it. This is disgusting no matter how you look at it. And, as stated earlier, enough with the "highlights" of Devendorf against Georgetown. I don't want my beloved alma mater even subliminally thought of by a viewer when discussing this scumbag.

"Beat a girl, Eric, beat a girl" *clap clap*
I will do everything in my power to make sure after every Devendorf foul that this (or some better variation thereof) is chanted.
Also, does holding up sheets with Kim Smith's picture during every Devendorf free throw cross the line of good taste?

Could we dress Jack in Orange and have him attack an orange clad blow up doll?
Oh, that's right, we are GU and don't do 'explicit' or confrontational stuff. Too bad, cause that clip would be priceless on youtube...

I don't think it crosses the line seeing as how UMCP, Duke and Stanford have done worse. I'm all for whatever it takes to mess with Devo.

Can the band learn that Prodigy classic, Smack My Bitch Up in time for the SUcks game? Or perhaps the student section could engage in a sad, pathetic SU rendition of the Dikembe finger wave, consisting of a limp-wristed slapping motion. Lots of time left to think of better ideas, although I hope at least one Hoyas fan might still come dressed as a microphone

Rats, I thought this was about the band Devo. Would have been much more interesting. Although I suppose the song title "Whip It" might be somewhat appropriate for the guy. "Through Bein' Cool", too, now that I think about it.
