I stumbled upon this gem today regarding Devo; www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2008/12/syracuse_university_basketball_1.htmlOf note: 1) "If the university does not lift his suspension, he could take the matter to Supreme Court, according to Devendorf's lawyer." "Sullivan said if he files an Article 78, he will also file an injunction with the court seeking a stay of the university suspension while the Article 78 is underway. If a judge grants an injunction, Devendorf would be allowed to attend classes and participate on the basketball team." 2) "Devendorf had a daughter this summer with his girlfriend." Lawyers, is #1 going to fly? Seeing that it is a university (and a private one at that), doesn't the university have full control over who gets to attend the school? I didn't know #2. Can't say I'm TOO surprised.

Just to clarify Lizzies post, it is the STATE supreme court, im sure Lizzie just made a mistake, but i wouldnt want anyone thinking that Trash would have to come to washing more than the once required for his game.

Haha yea, I copied and pasted out of context. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if thats where he wants to take this.

The NY State Supreme Court is the state's trial court and has jurisdiction over just about all cases. The NY terminology is pretty much completely different from every other state.
Most other states go District/Superior, then Appeals, then Supreme. However, in NY it goes Supreme, Appellate, Court of Appeals.

So THAT is why on law and order it seems like they are ALWAYS going to supreme court! everything is clear now

2) "Devendorf had a daughter this summer with his girlfriend." So naturally he'd be out late at a frat party, getting into an altercation with a woman.
