the irony of your grammar post containing a moronic spelling mistake is not lost on the Lingus. Not to mention that the possessive is "its." "It's" is a contraction of "it is." There's a spell check button right next to the button you hit to post. Ironically it thinks Devendorf should be changed to Defender. It would have been more accurate had it said defendant.

What a pathetic jackass this kid is. Aside from allegedly hitting a girl (jackass move numero uno), this is a guy who got a redshirt last year, preserved his season and then threw another away? What a waste.

he was already on probation and from what i've been told it was from fighting the first time. I've also heard he's been thrown out of several bars for being rowdy. This is just par for the course for him. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I would like to take this time to congratulate Georgetown, its student athletes and its alumni.
I've been a student here since 2004 when JTIII took over and we've never had an off the floor incident since I've been here. We recruit and develope good athletes and good people and you'd never see a negative story on the front page of espn about a gtown student.
Whether we win games or not (which we will), I'm proud of this University and our athletic programs

SU Fan- "All I want to know... Where are the bruises? He's 6'4... If he hits a girl in the face, there should be some bruises. The Syracuse Newspaper (Post-Standard) never said anything about the physical damage done."
Edited. Keep your posts clean going forward--Admin

the story i got is that this altercation took place outside a frat house when devendorf was arguing with her then reached inside a car and punched her in the face. on top of that, the moron sent her a bunch of threatening text messages that they used as evidence against him. the source i have within the university says he's done, but who knows.

Who in HB is in charge of making the video shorts for home games? There is a Katy Perry spoof dying to be made before 1/14. ;D

I have always referred to this clown as "Devenpunk" since the first game he played. He gives the term "white trash" a bad name. A transfer to Memphis or West Virginia for his final season would be fitting.

This guy always was a clown, but I found saxamaphone's yahoo link interesting on three fronts:
1) How does the Syracuse Police turn this over to the SU Campus Student Body Governing Board. Like the article states, is punching a woman in the face not a crime in Syracuse, NY?
2) Where is the outrage at this like what happened to Allen Iverson years ago, this is actually worse in many ways. Why is this basically being downplayed by the national sports media?
3) Finally, I love how Devendorf has been suspended from taking classes at SU, but Boeheim is allowing him to stay on the team pending his appeal. Wow.
Stay classy SU.

One factor I'm sure is that the media is frightened by another potential Duke lacrosse situation. But then again, it is at the top of the ESPN headlines.

Like the article states, is punching a woman in the face not a crime in Syracuse, NY? I'm pretty sure this happens a lot. I want to say that it happened at Georgetown a few times with regular students. In effect, there are no real differences between this kind of situation and where the school deals with a clear crime through internal punishments (e.g. losing housing privileges for weed distribution) rather than disclosing to the police.

Yeah, and you have to consider that going through the courts takes lots of time and money, even if there is a plea bargain. What Devo is accused of is a serious crime, but for things like public drunkenness or petty vandalism it may be easier for the school to handle it than the police. There is also a much lower burden of proof with the school. Finally, for the accused, there would be no police record (of a conviction) if it went through the school.
