How does he think he is going to get PT right away with Jackson and Onuaku? Way more time available at Marquette, not to mention GU.

other than injury, i wish nothing but bad luck to him. He went from a university that has turned out big men: Mutombo, Mourning, Ewing, Hibbert to :Ethan Thomas, Ronny Seikaly and Danny Shayes..
maybe he is doing it for the higher education offered there

Well, if he turns out to be a bust, I hear they have great drug and money laundering programs there...

Well this is a slap in the face for all Hoya fans in Upstate New York. I've endured two torcherous days of ribbing because of the St. John's collapse, and now Syracuse takes what was once believed to be our star recruit.
$omething $mells here ... You don't de-commit because you want guaranteed playing time and then go to a school that has a verteran junior and sophomore ahead of you at your natural position. Hope this forever stokes a fire in JTIII's heart.

whatever. don't know why this is bad news. i actually think this is good news-- adds more juice to the rivalry. kid can go there and be a "star". he's got to change his attitude and i really don't think he starts next year....if he does then it is good for the rest of the league. you just don't come into this conference and dominate-- it is rare to do that. Boeheim almost had a mutiny this year led by paul harris. we'll see how he takes to a kid who decides when he wants to play and when he doesn't want to play. henry/greg are better than dashonte.

Nail in Dashonte's coffin for Hoya fans. Bad luck to you Shon.

As opposed to that scrub (Kris Joseph) who thought we'd actually care about him spurning the Hoyas, I think the people that follow this board will care about this one.
Here's to hoping you make a visit to VC next year, Dash. I'll be there waiting for you.

Slap in the face to us. I can only think that he will come to specialize in slapping others in the face during his time at Cuse. I hope he is injured in the inevitable Carrier Dome collapse - and that he is standing next to Devendorf and MacNamara when it happens.

If it's true that he just committed to cuse this kid just became hoya enemy #1. It won't be possible to boo him loudly enough at verizon. What a turd ditto

It's gonna be difficult to boo him at the booth as he won't be playing unless the Cuse has defections that we don't know about yet.
But hey.... at least he doesn't have to worry about academic ineligibility now or any random felonies he may choose to commit. That sorta flexibility must be comforting. And if he does have any problems, he can get a minimum wage job and still somehow afford school while juicing up his GPA with online courses. When does the "whiner" orientation start at the Cuse anyway?

If anyone has read Alonzo's book, particularly the chapter about his recruiting proces... If it walks like a duck...

He doesn't need classes, he's already a whiner ( remember his recruitng process?).

MEH.
If what I've read so far about this kid, namely borderline demanding immediate PT, is correct I'd say *our* program dodged a bullet. It's one thing for someone not to buy into an offensive system....it's entirely another not to buy into the concept of a "team" or "earning playing time."
And for what it's worth, I think it would be much more insulting not to get all riled up over this. Would only promote the ego-tripping.

This kid is going to be pulling splinters out of his butt for the foreseeable future. He had a much better shot at significant playing time here. So something doesn't add up. I don't know if it's $$$, or what. Maybe it's as simple as his deciding that he and III weren't a good match, but that would be a legitimate explanation, and he never said that was the case.
I see lots of booing in Dash's future.

I see lots of booing in Dash's future. I think indifference is the better and more effective response.
