Mariotti picks GU to beat BC.
My man Woody Paige says no.
But Stat Boy gave the argument to Mariotti, saying GU coming off big win, ready to move up in the world!!!
GO HOYAS!!!

Having been subjected to the genius that is Mariotti for years as a Chicagoan, I fear that he picked us. Then again, Woody Paige's support wouldn't make me feel any better. I do like that Stat Boy awarded the point in our favor.

nothing on PTI yet... except a brief BC mention. ACC question coming up though....
I loved Mariottis comments, although I usually prefer Paige. Mariotti gets the point.

UGH. Wilbon just picked 2 ACC teams in the Final Four (GT, UNC) and TK picked 3!!! Duke, UNC and a "gold and black team". Pathetic. I woulda thought these dopes wouldn't have been brainwashed.
After GU beats up on BC, we ALL need to email pti@espn.com and ask the same question:
"With John Thompson III leading one of the greatest college hoops turnarounds, and fresh off a road-win upset of the previously undefeated #8 team in the country, when are you dopes gonna start giving the best team in the DC area, the Georgetown Hoyas, some dap!?"

let me preface this by saying PTI is my favorite sports show on tv.
Wilbon said he thought 2 ACC teams woulind make the final four and kornheiser countered saying that the ACC would match the 1985 Big east example and have 3 , UNC and Duke for sure and the third he wasnt sure about. Wow, i thought these guys were above the ACC lovefest, guess not.
I dont see Duke there at all

Yea, I was disappointed, espiecially with TK. I think 2 is a resonable assesment but 3? Come on
Illinois UNC Kansas TEXT
Thats my final four, for now anyways.
Go Hoyas!

"I love those Marrotti comments." Not exactly something you hear often in Chicago....but if he wants to drink the Hoya-Kool Aid, I'm all for it.

Let's be honest... the most realistic Final Four is:
Illinois 'Cuse UConn (they always play well come March) G'Town
Period. 'Nuff said. Adios. Go Hoya. Beat the ShEagles.

Can you specify what game RaChi? Illinois v. Wisconson or Illinois v. Georgetown? G-Town. He came up from where he was seated and visited a group of people situated in the same row where my season tickets are.

TK and Wilbon have been in the tank for the ACC for awhile. TK is even very good friends with Gary Williams. They aren't any different than 99% of the DC media in that they worship the ACC.
Now back in the day TK would go to the BE tourneys to cover The Hoyas and the Big east in general but those times are long past. TK doesn't even leave his house anymore and Wilbon always travels to North Carolina to cover the ACC tournament. In fact a couple of years ago (one season after the Terp's championship season) Wilbon was at the ACC tourney, noticed all of the ACC stars who have left early for the pros and was bemoaning the fact that the colege game no longer had any stars. Of course if he had gone to the Big East tourney he would have seen Carmelo, Ben gordon, sweetney, Okafor, Bell from BC, Craig Smith, Ryan Gomes, Hakim Warrick, GMac, that gunner from St. John's, Brandin Knight, etc. It was as if to him the ACC represented all that was worthy about college bball.

The way our boys are playing, and getteing better with each game, points to a great possible finish at the BET.
I would love to have a Saturday night in the Big Apple after a great Hoya victory.
Cuse has a tough 3 games coming up...
Imagine if they remain undefeated until the final game of the BET, and then the Hoyas March onto the court for warm-ups. Man...suger plums...

I don't give any credence to anything Mariotti says or writes. But Woody Paige is in the same book, so I guess it doesn't matter.
Yesterday on his radio show, Kornheiser mentioned that he'd never met JTIII but would like to do so. I quickly wrote him this email, but I think it got in too late to be in the stack to be read on the air:
Yes Toby, I just heard you say you've never met John Thompson III, but you'd like to do so. There's a good place for media members like you to meet local coaches like John: A GAME. The Hoyas play Seton Hall Wednesday night, about 4 blocks from your PTI studio, and it's 80's night at MCI Center ... so why don't you flash back to the 80's when you used to go to the games?

That was great. We have to keep the pressure on the media. If only we had a Dept. on the hill that took care of that kind of stuff. hmmm.....

TK and Wilbon both can just go to Chinatown for the ACC tourney without leaving town this year, unless they want to cover another tourney elsewhere for per diem.
