Just think where we were just 5 years ago. Now we carp about an 18 national ranking in the Preseason and speculate about how far up we will move from there.
I know it's a few weeks early but a prayer of Thanksgiving is certainly in order.

Can anybody explain to me why a VERY mediocre miami team last year with only one big recruit this year is ranked ahead of us?

This should shake the rankings up a little: UNC's Heart cut out.

Yeah but that's just Tyler the player. His competetiveness and his tenacity will both still start.

not sure why we are ranked below duke, marquette or miami, but i can't complain too much about anything else. as long as we beat duke.

Do we really care where we're ranked right now? Under the radar is good. Rank us 50 in the nation for all I care as long as we're numero uno in kicking ass.

Too bad no bills will be passed before the election. With North Carolina in play, I'll bet you could easily get that funded as an earmark.

I'm a little late to this discussion, but as far as SU, Jardine (I believe) is on a medical redshirt this season. I hadn't heard about it til yesterday when a co-worker of mine, who is a HUGE SU fan, mentioned it. So, they get Rautins/Devendorf back and lose Scoop. This is a team that will score, but the big question, for me anyway, is will they play defense......especially inside. I don't know much about their freshmen, but Onuaku still seems to be the only semblance of an inside presence that they have. I'm sure Mr. Magoo will have them winning more games than any of us would like......I don't know about them being a top 15 team.

Oh, and I should have added that I think #18 is a pretty good start for us. We have a lot of unknowns on this team and while I/we think we could be very good........the truth is that we don't really know and we will have some tough early games in the Old Spice tourney. And yes......the Big East sure is loaded this year!! That should make these OOC games all that more important as all the BE teams should be beating the tar out of each other all year.

I know it's a few weeks early but a prayer of Thanksgiving is certainly in order. I hear that. Though my Thanksgiving prayer this year will also involve a 20 point victory over Wichita State followed by an oversized turkey leg dinner in Frontierland.

We may fall from 18 before rising later in the year. That is OK. IT's all about how you finish. Tough start to the preseason, and even tougher start to the BE season with our first three games against Top 10 teams!
Our guys have their work cut out! But they also have the best coach. Can you believe we have Georgetown Basketball on TV on THANKSGIVING!
GO HOYAS!
