Tobias Harris. Well GU has been monitoring him for a longtime, but have not offered. There are just so many good players right now, so can't take them all.
Selby is not a better player than Starks, as all of us that have actually watched these kids play real highschool games know. What Selby is, is an short shooting guard that excels in these summer aau/all star game type settings. So Selby is going to get the hype and high rankings. If you want a short shooting guard that is not a team player, then selby is your guy. If you want a great PG with excellent leadership skills to run your team, then Starks is your guy.

I was wondering about Tobias Harris...he had been consistently listing us but none of u guys have been mentioning him much...not much interest? I guess he is in Nate's same position that's why I hadn't thought much of it but it was interesting to see him mentioned nonetheless... maybe it makes more sense now

Tobias Harris has been big time over the last week. Watch for his rankings to skyrocket after July.

Gtown is not really recruiting Harris. Nice player, but defensively he really needs to go to a progam that plays mostly zone.

Also, my understanding is that his father is a tad bit controlling.

Ok, that is too funny. Your questions will be answered in the gloom and doom thread titled Javon McCrae.

Apparently the Hoyas are recruiting Durrand Johnson, a 6'5" swingman from Baltimore that plays for Cecil Kirk. Here's what Telep said about him yesterday:
"Durrand Johnson, SG, Cecil Kirk: He’s got a scorer’s swagger to his game. The outside shot is respectable and he’s constantly going at his man. Would be a potential all-league guy in the A-10 over time."
Johnson has offers from Xavier and Delaware. Others looking at him include Georgetown, Maryland, UCONN, Drexel, and NC State.

Add another '10 player claiming a Georgetown offer: Matt Derenbecker, 6'6" out of LA. Here's what Scout said about his performance yesterday:
"Matt Derenbecker, SF, Louisiana Select – For the second time in as many days, the 6-foot-6, 200-pound wing put together a pair of quality efforts. The lefty has a pure jumper, with range that extends well past the three-point line. During his final pool play game he managed to get a few buckets at the rim as well. He’s got good size for the position, is an OK athlete and isn’t afraid to mix it up inside. He’s already got an solid list of followers, and after this event it should only pick up."
Article says he has offers from Georgetown, LSU, Alabama, Georgia Tech, Florida and Baylor. Virginia is "also in the mix".
In the same article, Tobias Harris did not list the Hoyas among ~12 teams he mentioned.

Yeah the other site claimed he had an offer a couple of weeks ago. The people at LSU site seem to think its between them, Stanford and us. Seeing film on the kid, he has a deadly jumper, and can handle the ball a little, but he isnt a Wow athelete better than say a Nikita who essentially they have the same skill set, except Derenbecker reminded me instantly of a Dunleavy type. he though is built well to step in immediately, he isnt skinny. hes got some muscle to him.
edit: oh and he was the player of the year in the state of lousiana as a jr.

still lotta time before this starts to shake itself out. Not an expert so correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like the end of August early fall should give us a little better idea of where we stand (and these other recruits stand) in the recruiting pecking order. Seems like our main targets are very clear and the staff are waiting to see where the main guys fall in. I would be surprised to see us taking commitments from anyone other than the main guys before winter/ spring of next year

yeah just read that. I suppose that's one way to solve their lack of guards problem. Dawkins moved up the rankings since his commitment to duke. Is he good enough to make a difference for duke? or is it more of a duke bump up the rankings?

Dawkins can only play SG. He has no handle and is small (6'3 1/2). He his a very good shooter and average defender, but he has good hops. He can't help them with their biggest problem which is PG, but at least it allows Scheyer and Smith to play more PG. Gtown never offered Dawkins because there were better SG's on the radar like kendrick (and Morris at that time before injuries slowed his development). But dawkins should be a good four year player. Nice kid.
Now I wonder if BJ meyers will be consistent and criticize Dawkins for reclassifying and "bailing" on his high school

Gtown never offered Dawkins because there were better SG's on the radar like kendrick (and Morris at that time before injuries slowed his development). "Georgetown is the other school in hot pursuit of Dawkins. 'Coach Thompson just talked to my dad and wanted it to be known that they are officially offering me a scholarship,' said Dawkins." Direct quote from Rivals article last fall. If it wasn't clear to anybody, the implication here is that one of em might be our guy (Nate).
