I had some issues with Christie too, but he rallied the troops and took a bipartisan stance in the aftermath of Sandy.

and CNN projects Obama the winner. Looked like Obama had it won about 2 hours ago. Not as close as some had projected after all.

Is it weird that I'm gonna kinda miss KC avoiding to answer legitimate questions while baiting other more outspoken posters on this thread? The 2016 cycle can't come soon enough!
Cheers to everyone who made this thread an entertaining soap opera!

Congratulations to the President and his supporters. As always, I hope and wish for the best. However I weep for my children.

We can always start a 2016 one. ;D This 2012 thread was actually started two weeks prior to the 2008 Presidential election. I don't know what blithering idiot thought that was a good idea...

Congratulations to the President, Vice President and all who were elected to office yesterday at every level. As bitter as our elections can seem at times, it's still the best method around.

This will come as a surprise, but I am actually being honest when I say that I didn't watch much last night. I was dealing with another situation which will interest no one here, but I wasn't around a TV much at all. I got a text from a friend when it was over and I went to bed.
So, I can't break down what really happened, except that the GOP has a big problem with Latinos and young people (I think their problem with women is overblown). That was no big deal when those groups didn't vote. Guess what? They vote now.
Anyway, that'll be a big challenge for them. Not sure if they can fix it, or even band-aid it, in four years. It'll take a generation.
Having said that, congratulations to the President and all of last night's other winners. I won't comment on any planned policies over the next four years, not yet anyway, just say that, as disappointed as I am in the outcome, I am glad there was an outcome. As EasyEd points out, our system does work, better than any else in the world, despite all of the nattering and complaining. So, thanks for coming, UN, but we really don't need you here.
Also, by not watching, apparently, I missed some awesome entertainment. I haven't found video yet, but I hear Karl Rove went full on Randolph Mortimer Duke (TURN THOSE MACHINES BACK ON!!!). That'll be fun to watch.
And, what in God's name was this?
I don't know what's funnier, Sawyer's actual blathering, or Stephanopolous' near facepalm reactions to her.
Anyway, I await TC's punishment. Even if it is that I have to write that Ben's Chili Bowl doesn't, in fact, suck. ;D
(But at least you can't make me eat there!!)
EDIT: Can't believe I mixed up the Duke brothers. Inexcusable.

Oh man, I cannot believe you missed Megyn Kelly's SNL backstage walk to go interrogate the nerds in the decision room. I swear, between that and Karl Rove refusing to accept the basic math of Cuyahoga County > whatever was left in Hamilton + some miscellaneous scraps, there was like 15 minutes there of FOX that is going to make one hell of a SNL sketch.

Wow, Mitt. You lost the election, now you've lost your dignity. Obama bought the election? Through bribes? Really? That's even more stupid than Rove saying Obama suppressed the vote!

If you take away the negative language (like "gifts"), what Romney apparently said boils down to "Obama tried to attract voters by giving those voters what they want." Wow, what a novel concept in politics. Whew, America, we just dodged a major bullet. ;D

The appalling thing about Romney's comment is just how oblivious he must be. He promised everyone less taxes, more ships and jets and other defense spending for VA and FL and Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, et al, no changes for 10 years in Social Security and Medicare benefits and rescission of Obama's Medicare savings in payments to insurance companies, and so on. Every plank of his agenda was a promise of something for nothing to a targeted voting or donating constituency.
