Story appeared at the fold on page 8 of the sports page. BC Eagle fever grips hub--NOT.

In the text they also have our record at 16-5. Do they know something we don't? Next three games all victories? I would take that.

Georgetown Struggles From Start 'Lackadaisical' First Half Proves Costly Against Eagles: Boston College 64, Georgetown 49
By Camille Powellwww.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A47905-2005Jan29.html"We've done that all year, so I didn't learn anything," Thompson said. "Our guys, if they learned anything, they learned they need to come and play from the beginning." Bowman answered my question about whether it was BC's defense or the Hoyas' offense that caused the first half debacle: "I think it was more of us not doing what we needed to do on offense the first half," Bowman said. "We let ourselves get out of motion in the first half. The defensive pressure, I don't think played as big a part as our own willingness to run the plays. We got out of sync for the most part in the first half. We tried to correct that and come out in the second half and cut harder and faster and lessen the turnovers." "It seemed like the first half, we were lackadaisical. The second half, we came out and realized what we needed to do, cutting harder and playing harder," Bowman said. "We were more assertive in the second half, more than the first half when we were just out there, going through the motions."

Craig Smith:
"We took a step toward our goal, and our goal is to win the Big East championship,'' Smith said. "From top to bottom, this is a great league and to be on top of it is great.''
So why leave ? ........... (sarcasm intended)
For now, I'm just chalking this loss up as one of those 'awful experiences' (learning experiences?) that just might benefit the players -- especially our freshmen -- down the stretch. Tyler was gritty .... valuable contributions in his minutes of PT.
