I will NOT be rooting for Vernon Macklin to succeed at Florida. If he walks onto the court and starts up putting up 20 and 10 and makes All American for the Gators, you'd better believe it reflects badly on the Hoyas. You can't sell it any other way. I don't think that will happen because I think he is what he is and it isn't a huge loss or a big deal for Florida (though I'm sure the media will hype it as a great addition because its Florida he is transferring to). But if it does, it isn't a good reflection on our program's ability to utilize all of its talent. I agree. Also, I am incapable of rooting for anyone or anything associated with that dump of a school. Macklin is dead to me.

the comments on the article in the Hoya that confirms the transfer to Florida are pretty amusing. Looks like an old Hoyatalk friend has found a new home! ON EDIT: I am repulsed by the fact that I see massive Florida Gators advertising at the top. We'll never be able to get rid of HiFi now .

Sounds like Shane/Lee/Sharon must've been the person whispering in Vernon's ear. I really hope that "they" join HoyaTalk. Would at least liven things up around here. One of my favorite Shane/Lee/Sharon quotes:
"the best move and decision that vernon macklin, has made. john thompson III should have never keep this all american and high recruit on the bench for two seasons, and never giving him the chance to show case his talent. look at his stats before becoming and being recuited to georgetown. how in the world could this coach think that he could go a third season and not start macklin. georgetown needs a new coach. that is going to let these guys play ball and have use of their own styles and not playing john thompson, princeton offense game. you are not at princeton. be fare to your players. no one should be a backup to player to shine them to go to nba, so that their stats will look good. and the one who is doing this doesn't shine. i feel sorry for those other guys that also never had gotten the opportunity to showcase their talent sitting on the bench and bring them in to play the last 60 seconds of the game when the team is winning. embassing is what you call it. john thompson III, is not a fair coach, and shows that at every game...stop worring about your suits and appearnce, and let those guys play ball....before they all will be go."

what exactly is 'embassing' ?? he's gone. get a life. "Embassing" is a misspelling of the word "embarrassing" as used by the asinine poster on The Hoya's story about Macklin (quoted above). My usage of the word was in mocking that person for her terrible inability to write. But my real problem with her is that she argues Macklin's side by attacking III and Roy--two people who were part of the re-emergence of this program whereas Macklin is a selfish over-hyped bench player. Coming on here to post "get a life" is ironic on a number of levels, but I would also be happy to share my daily schedule with you if you're truly concerned about what I do with my time.

I saw Macklin on campus today. He appeared to be doing espionage for the Gators.

He was also wearing sneakers that aren't in G'town's mold.
Edited. Avoid unfounded allegations.--Admin
Haha, it was a joke, Admin. But seriously, he looked MIGHTY suspicious buying a newspaper outside the dining hall today.

With the skills he picked up here and the Gators' style of play, Vernon is in a good position to do well.
With the youth they had this year, I think Florida will be pretty solid in a couple of years.

Stealing and borrowing permanently?
Acknowledging gifts and being pleasantly surprised by non-team roommates' good fortunes?

ADMIN isn't the gestapo. He's here to protect you and me and our Hoyas. It's all jokes. Elvado was wondering about your submission of "non-existent to me" as a change to "dead to me."
