Give me the Heat vs the Nets. That would be some FUN up and down basketball!
By the way I can't wait for the Hoyas to start producing NBA players again on a regular basis (although again I wish Sweets wasn't stuck on that stupid Knicks' team).

By the way I can't wait for the Hoyas to start producing NBA players again on a regular basis (although again I wish Sweets wasn't stuck on that stupid Knicks' team). I agree for MANY reasons but you stated the obvious--fun basketball to watch. If David Stern is paying attention he should notice the fan's reaction in Miami. That was a city so morbid that they had to put a curtain up to hide the no-shows and even then, more than half the crowd would support the opposing team. Now look at that place, it's undoubtedly been the wildest arena in the Playoffs and great advantage for the Heat. I don't like Detroit because of their "FUGAZY BAD BOY" act. To say this group of Pistons is anywhere near the level of the original Bad Boys is just disgusting. The Pistons of Isiah, Dumars, Laimbeer, Mahorn, etc... could play basketball and just happened to be tough as hell. The current edition can't win a road game against a worthy opponent and thinks of Dick Bennett as Master of High Scoring. I respect Ben Wallace's hustle and effort but I don't see him as a great player. He's a guy who would be a nice bench player on a Championship Caliber team but as a "Star"? YAWN!!! The Pacers have blown their advantage by getting too cute with their rotation of players, and trying to get Jermaine O"Neal the ball all the damn time. I sit in amazement as they continually have Reggie Miller (one of the great clutch shooters in League History) on the bench at critical times. And the fact is that Al Harrington has proven to be a factor only in Home Games during the Playoffs. That's key because he's matched up against Odom. I'd also like to dispell any nothing that Eastern Conference has a chance to win the NBA title. This talk of Indiana/Detroit being capable to win against the West is strictly to "hype" the Finals (which are being played in LA/SA right now). Kings and Wolves would also win against the Eastern Conference and I thought Kings would be most vulnerable to losing if they somehow advanced to Finals but not after seeing just how inept the Pistons are offensively, and Pacers lack of guts on the road against a team that doesn't pack it in like Boston. MCI, did you happen to catch the note that Larry Brown told Ben Wallace "I want you to shoot the ball more"? Reminds me of what he told Mutombo and only difference is Deke has some offensive game other than shoving people and dunking or throwing up ugly fadeaways that go in 30% of the time! Wallace is awful on the offensive end and I'm sick of his "Hair" thing. I don't mind him doing it, but the non-stop hype about how he wears his hair makes him a Star?? Make a shot!

I agree with you here, RDF. I don't like Indy or Detroit, and don't think either will win the title this year. Sac seems inconsistent, Minnesota is still green about the ears, and the Nets, though experienced and talented, are not very deep. It's going to be SA or the Lakers- which sucks, a lot.

I like Wallace more than you obviously do but I agree that Brown asking Wallace to shoot more is a little absurd. Wallace should get his shots off of putbacks and fast breaks. Maybe its okay for him to take few shots a game in the halfcourt that are designed for him, but no more than that. Larry Brown has more offensive talent on these Pistons than he did on the Sixers and yet Detroit is putting up less points in the playoffs than Brown’s Philly squads. And this is despite the fact that they are playing a Nets team that wants to run! How typical is it that Miami now has a team that would have been a perfect fit for Alonzo? Where was this type of athleticism and speed and youth when Zo was playing for Coach Riley? I’m so sick of Gtown stars playing on offensively challenged teams.

I appreciate Ben Wallace's defense and hustle, but I just get tired of the hype. Sometimes in the NBA I think you get rebounds on the stat sheet for Reputation. I've seen some games where I thought Zo or Mutombo had about 25 rebounds and in the box score it says 10 or 12. Then I see Wallace and he has 50 rebounds. LOOSE BALLS ARE NOT REBOUNDS!!! Not only would Zo be perfect for this Heat team, but any former Hoya would be. Defense and Rebounding are always welcomed and the running of the court would make them lethal. But the memo gets out about GU players "Send them somewhere the coach will surround them with miscast CBA Refugees or average talent, let them waste the prime of their careers and then taunt their fans by having them with good players in their twilight". BTW, will someone get Iverson some players that can shoot/run the floor? If Iverson played with the Heat he'd average 15 assists a game with Fastbreaks alone! And the point you made about Pistons not scoring with more talent than Larry Brown's Sixer teams--well Brown had the one weapon he never appreciated and CARRIED his sorry butt for years to score when they needed hoops, who does that for Pistons? Certainly not Mike Tirico's "dreamboat" Hamilton.

When can we start to agree that Dwayne Wade needs to be in the discussion with Carmelo and LeBron when talking about the studs of the rookie class? When he was healthy this season, Dwayne was just as unstoppable. He's also basically become Mr. Late Fourth Quarter.
If you want a shot at some big-time money, get somebody clueless to give you great odds on who will be the best player to emerge from last year's draft.
And to think the Pistions passed on him too.
