Oh we're Cardinals fans for sure. They win and it all comes down to 3/8 no matter what happens against Marquette. Please explain why. What tiebreaker do the Hoyas hold over the Cardinals? If we lose to Marquette and Cardinals beat ND and lose to Hoyas both teams would have 4 losses. The tiebreaker between Georgetown and Louisville would be record versus the best common opponent, with a different outcome depending on whether the best common opponent is Marquette or ND. If Marquette wins Saturday, they also beat out ND for the kingmaker role to determine the BET #1 seed.

I dunno we win out including the BET and i could see it. We need help, but it could happen. No one is safe besides Memphis. Tennesse and Texas are in good shape. If other around us slip we could sneak in there.
All the teams have games left they could lose: Tennessee has to play kentucky and @ florida UCLA has to play @asu, @az, vs. Cal and vs. stanford UNC has to play Fl st. and @ Duke Duke has to play @ Nc st @uva, and vs. UNC Kansas has to play k st and @texas Am
Texas and memphis don't have any gmaes left that they should lose.
So based on this:
1's memphis, Texas, Tennessee, and UNC 2's Duke, Kansas, UCLA, Georgetown

We're assuming the better team is going to win, i.e. ND winning out after the L'ville game tonight. If I remember correctly, Pitt dropped one in the last game or two last year that allowed us to take the BE regular season on our own.
I guess I'm saying that just because we might trip up, doesn't mean another team won't either.

I guess I'm saying that just because we might trip up, doesn't mean another team won't either. I had to fly to Singapore the day Georgetown played Connecticut last year. Long flight. Didn't get to check the internet kiosks when we arrived, and the internet lounge in the hotel was closed. I wake up the next morning and open up my email. I have two messages - both from the guy who received my ticket. One was an email indicating GU beat UConn. The other doesn't have a body, just a subject field. "MARQ BEATS PITT -- WE HAVE SOLE POSSESSION OF BIG EAST CHAMP'SHIP". Short version - the Flu came through. And I still have the email. They're my happy emails.

If we don't right the ship quick and start playing better, we won't have to worry about tiebreakers. seeds, brackets anything - we'll go home in the 2nd round of the dance. The next 2 games should tell us an awful lot about how excited to get or not get over the next month.

Go Cards.
Also, while it's true that we can lose to Marquette and still get the #1 seed if Louisville beats ND and we beat Louisville, if we then lose to Louisville, we likely drop to the #5 seed and blow a bye. So hopefully we can beat Marquette, and not place ourselves at risk for that.

This is all academic. I'd bet my right arm that Louisville wins tonight. I refuse to believe that Notre Dame is a top tier basketball team. In fact, I'll be very very surprised if 'Ville doesn't win by double digits.

ND looks completely overwhelmed right now. It isn't even funny. It looks like 6 on 5 on both ends of the court!

ND isn't giving up, and they do have the ability to score in bunches, and do it quickly. We will see . . . .

I gotta say - I don't like ND, I think Brey is an awful, awful coach. But I'm starting to like Harangody. Kid plays hard and has become a very nice player. He's got 40 tonight. I also like how he always s---ts the bed against us.

Great ending for all the right reasons. L'ville almost blows it at the line against an unbelievably overrated team that plays no defense. Alice the Goon hits 3 3s down the stretch, scoring 40, all to no avail.
Our strategy on March 8? Go right at Padgett. He can't play 30 minutes.

Harangody saw Hibbert and raised him three at the end of the game -- 3 3s in a row. It was pretty damn impressive, even in a losing effort.
That said, Padgett was just owning Harangody down below.

I think Harangody wrapped up POY tonight, whether he deserves it or not. Personally, I think he is better than some around here make him out to be. Except when he plays Roy, of course.
Having said that, holy crap would I love to see Roy take 28 shots in a game, never mind even getting 28 touches. Geez, he would have 40 in the first half.
On another note, Louisville looked awesome for much of the game but almost fell apart there. I was imagining the frustration we would all be feeling if that were the Hoyas.
