and there's still the question of why Mars is warming just like earth. This from the exact same poster who has claimed it's impossible to measure the average temperature here on earth, but enthusiastically embraces scientists' ability to measure the average temperature on a planet 50 million miles away? Attack the messenger, ignore the message.

Attack the messenger, ignore the message. This post was made by thermometers on Mars? Otherwise I don't see how it's not attacking your statements.

It snowed here on Memorial Day. I don't know what all you people are talking about with your "global warming" nonsense.

no one seems to know how sun activity has influenced our temperatures, . Progress has also been made on ruling out other possible causes of warming, such as changes in the amount of solar radiation reaching the earth. Scientists have identified ‘fingerprints’ of warming that confirm human influence. A primary example is the pattern of warming in the layers of the atmosphere. Under increased greenhouse gas scenarios, climate models predict that the lowest layer of the atmosphere (the troposphere) should warm, while the next layer up (the stratosphere) should cool. This has been confirmed by recent observation. If increased output from the sun were the cause, both layers could be expected to warm .Climate evidence is in, it is time to act as one -- From ABC: The Australian Broadcasting Company

Just checked Page 1 of the thread. Looks like we've been going over this for about 3.5 years. Anyone changed their mind, adjusted their views, recanted their heresy? Oh well. Animal Collective still sucks.

Animal Collective still sucks. Gotta keep the thread going: news.yahoo.com/nasa-data-blow-gaping-hold-global-warming-alarmism-192334971.html"NASA satellite data from the years 2000 through 2011 show the Earth's atmosphere is allowing far more heat to be released into space than alarmist computer models have predicted, reports a new study in the peer-reviewed science journal Remote Sensing. The study indicates far less future global warming will occur than United Nations computer models have predicted, and supports prior studies indicating increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide trap far less heat than alarmists have claimed."

I'm really relieved that RealClimate has a couple of blog posts on Spencer. Now back to that consensus.

I want to ask a simple question about man-made global warming. If there is man-made global warming, why is it not possible the warming occurs because we are heating our homes and offices and that heat is radiating outside? Don't we see this in temperature differentials between cities and rural areas? Why is it necessary for greenhouse gases to be the culprit and not merely the fact we are converting potential energy into kinetic energy? Okay, I'm asking a few not a single simple question. But it's a series of simple questions and it seems more straightforward than the greenhouse gas theory. Of course if my conjecture is correct, man-made warming would occur with alternative sources of energy as well as from fossil fuels.

Global warming is a Global Conspiracy. Right... Scientists have determined with certainty why the earth's temperatures change. Right...

And of course the day would not be complete w/o Boz's humor! I just finished a contentious phone call. I needed that.
