I'm all for making losses by Michigan and Notre Dame uneventful and boring. Dare I say ... old hat?! My only regret is that both cannot go winless. It is causing me a great deal of difficulty with picking this week's game. I am trying to envision scenarios in which both teams can take a loss this week. So far, the only situation I can dream up involves both teams being unable to make it to the stadium, necessitating forfeit losses on both ends. METEOR

[You have chosen to shun vcjack] I meant it as a positive, a meteor would provide both teams a chance to reload and while in the short run it would be catastrophic, in the end it would be addition by subtraction But then again if the meteor were to be much larger and destroy both schools, it would also be addition by subtraction

I have thought about that, the only problem, as I see it, is that a meteor strike would more likely result in a cancellation/postponement, a la Marshall, instead of an outright double-forfeit.

Wondering what people on here think the UGA-SC game meant? GA overrated? SC underrated? or both?

Wondering what people on here think the UGA-SC game meant? GA overrated? SC underrated? or both? I would put it more on the UGA is bad side. I've got a cousin that's a current student down in Athens and he follows the Dawgs pretty closely. I havn't talked with him since Saturday but I'd bet he's not supprised. Their offense is young and mistake prown and there are few guys who are good enough to be garunteed starters, and the defense is very much so on a downturn. I can't really say that they are overatted because after last years flop (yes I know they won their bowl) I don't see too many people high up on them

Wondering what people on here think the UGA-SC game meant? GA overrated? SC underrated? or both? Never underestimate the power of the ole ball coach. Anybody who can win consistently at Duke and Florida obviously knows something about football. The most telling thing to me was that he had the discipline late in the game to run the ball and eat clock, which is something at Florida he might not have done, and something that while at Duke he would never have done. If nothing else, it denied UGA another comeback opportunity.

Good points about SOS. On the grander scale, I think it is really going to make life difficult for both Richt and Phil Fulmer. I think the days of Tennessee competing for the SEC title on an annual basis are a thing of the past. Heck, they haven't won one since 98 anyway. In actuality the whole SEC east has gotten a lot more competitive. Obviously we went from Zook to Meyer some 2 plus years ago. South Carolina led by the evil genius will be a danger as long as he is there. Rich Brooks has made Kentucky a real opponent that can win on any given day and even Vandy is not the doormat that they have been often. On a somewhat related note, this is ridiculous: www.clarionledger.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070909/NEWS/709090372 Is that backasswards or what? To make beer and wine illegal but allow hard liquor is odd to say the least.

Ha ha. We want you to drink, as long as you don't drink responsibly. I guess you can't take the hill out of the hillbilly. On a related note, thank you West Virginia.

Attention customers. . .
"Rocky Top."
. . .that is all.
You know I really couldn't care less about Tennessee, but for some reason I can't quite figure out, I really, really want them to win this weekend. Go figure.

I figured you might get a kick out of that. I hope you all haven't been too lonely this week. I know I have been neglecting you a bit, but I had some Vol fans I needed to inform about a few things.

Clearly Oklahoma State has decided that if they are playing on Friday they might as well play like a high school team.

Demetrius Jones missed the ND bus to Ann Arbor. Gameday reports today he's already transferred to N. Illinois.

Texas is lucky O'Leary is a born loser. He played that game to lose it close. I'd fire him immediately.

Anyone catch Pete Carroll making crap of Callahan at the end of the USC-Nebraska game? Carroll put in reserves at the majority of positions and even with Booty in--there were reserve OL and on defense there were reserves at most positions--and Callahan leaves his starters in there to make score appear better. His QB is a 5th year SR--you get nothing from this other then not getting your ass handed to you. He's going for 2 and kicking onside kicks--and all Carroll had to do to pour it on was put in his first team OL and run the ball--that would've gotten him at least 2/3 more TD's-and for those who didn't see the game--I'm NOT exaggerating. Ask your friends who did--anytime USC wanted to run--they could.
Carroll's exact words to Callahan "Hope you got something out of that 4th quarter". IN OTHER WORDS: "YOU ARE A TOOL".
Last year Callahan played to not get blown out--and with the clock rules--he kept it closer then it would've been. This year he played to win--got his ass handed to him--and to save face--he leaves starters in against 2nd/3rd teamers. If Keller would've gotten injured--he'd have a lot of questions to answer--but it's "Husker Pride"--and they'll need a lot of it with that SUCK ASS DEFENSE.
