Maybe you didn't hear, BC only matters (even to its own fans) when they play Notre Dame.

Yeah, they were especially inept. Supposedly there were only about 6 or 7 thousand BC fans there. Some of the journalists who covered the game estimated that the actual real attendence was probably less that 35,000.

Yeah, but I would still just as soon BC stink. I'd rather see a Clemson or a Virginia Tech win the ACC, although I was kind of happy for Virginia having a decent season. I'm sure RDF isn't real fond of them right now though.

Jim Grobe was originally reported to be a done deal to Arkansas, but now it looks like he may just be the latest coach to get a raise/extension at his current job courtesy of the Arkansas coaching search.

Paul Johnson not going to GT. They reportedly couldnt pay him more than he makes now. Probably tenuta hired there with Roof as DC.
Johnson may still go to SMU.

www.nwanews.com/adg/Sports/209777/one of a number of stories filtering out alleging that Miles strongly preferred and expected the Michigan job, but Bill Martin did not act.

He's signed an extension through 2012, so I guess not.

Won't believe Miles is staying at LSU until January after the final game a few days.
Johnson is down to SMU or Duke now.
Davis told Arkansas he wasn't interested preemptively.

the miles - michigan saga from this past weekend can go one of two ways. last friday, miles agent left a message with martin, presumably to discuss les coming to AA. martin never called back until sunday, one day after the whole debacle exploded thanks to herbie and his big mouth. by that time, it was too late. lsu made their offer and miles declared his intent to stay at lsu. martin claims he did not call because he was honoring the lsu wish that he not contact miles until after the sec title game.
the way i see it, either martin completely dropped the ball by not engaging in talks with miles agent friday OR he (and the coach search committee) never really wanted les in the first place and this is a perfect excuse not to go after miles anymore. remember, lloyd carr and miles aren't exactly buddies, going back a couple of years when lloyd had a verbal from highly rated corner jai eugene, only to have miles come in and steal him at the last minute. carr has a big say in who the next coach is going to be. could it still be miles? i guess anything is possible.
as a michigan fan, i just want a freaking coach. this morning, it was schiano. this afternoon, he's staying at rutgers. it's a complete mess that may cost martin his job when it's all said and done.

Not a big Michigan fan (they always seem over-hyped every year), but I have to say that UM is better off without Les Miles.

I'm putting this in the college thread because: (1) I NEVER in a million years thought he would EVER have even a sniff of an NFL field, and it might happen; (2) I want to see what it looks like when RDF spits fire out his nostrils: sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3145872ST. LOUIS -- Rams quarterback Marc Bulger had a setback in his recovery from a concussion, meaning it's possible third-stringer Brock Berlin, who has never attempted a pass in a regular-season game, might start Sunday at Cincinnati.

Delaware and App State are in the FCS finals next week now.
DE won at S. Illinois last night and App beat Richmond Friday.

The irony is that Delaware's helmets are a direct copy of Michigan's (the blue is a little less dark). Ideally, UD will be able to show Big Blue how it's done and take down the Mountaineers.
