Hey Hoya fans, I do some scouting for a draft site, and had a few questions for you.
I know you probably don't want to hear from people like me, but I was wondering if I could get some information on your freshman PF Jeff Green. I haven't had a chance to see the guy play yet, but I've heard some good things about him.
How tall is he? Is he a legit 6'9, or is he just listed there?
How is he athletically/physically? Is he stronger than people? Quicker than people? A combination of both?
How does he score his points? Jump hooks, put backs, jumpers?
How are his perimeter skills? Is he a PF/C type, or could he end up on the wing someday?
Is he a defender? How about shotblocking instincts?
Is there a college star/former college star, or pro that he reminds you of?
Thanks for anything you can help me with. I'm looking out for a chance to watch him, and will certainly let you know what I think once I've seen him play.
Best of luck on the season - It sounds like things are on the way up for you guys. From what I've heard, your recruiting class is pretty nice. Edgerson and Spann are the bruising-type wings that are in style these days, and Thornton is the shooter you need. Don't know much about Sapp, but he definitely has a name at the high school level.

What is your website/organization? I encourage you to release that info in the interest of transparency and encourage other posters not to respond until you tell us.
I don't mean to be touchy on it, but, if you saw how meaningful Jeff is to the program, you'd be touchy too.

Jeff is more like 6'4" and he has minimal skills, just kidding! But I don't want to hear the word draft next to Jeff Green's name anytime soon. I'm sure someone else will answer your questions but I'm not really in the mood.
Let's put it this way, HE'S A BEAST!!!

Jeff's got a lot of spirit for a 5'5" guy with two club feet. And I've got to say, it is amazing that he can find his way up and down the court, what with his being legally blind and all . . . You should give him a look!

Jeff Green's real name is Drew Hall and he transfered to the College of Charelston two years ago. Please post on their board to find out more information about him.

Jeff Green? Never heard of 'em. You must be thinking of Rudy Gay...
While you're researching, check out Brandon Bowman on the Hoyas. He's a junior, somewhere close to 6'9'', with true SF skills. Very long and very athletic, and if he can find his long range shot, he will be one of the Big East's best. He will be an NBA player.
Good stuff guys. It's much easier to hide a player when you're never on national television. Sigh.

Speaking of Drew Hall ....... he made 11 assists in a game a couple weeks ago, and 9 in a game more recently. So he's not doing too badly as a contributing member of the Cougars, and he's probably in a good-fitting situation. The departures (en masse) of spring '03 probably played a bigger part than we'll ever know in helping spur the changes. And we'll be the better for it.
As to Jeff and "draft scouts" ......... hey, let's hope Mr. Green is a draft-dodger in the best sense of the word for another 3 years. ;D

We appreciate the nice thoughts, and we'll give you our low down, but yeah, please identify yourself.
Hint: He's bigger than Othella (listed at 6' 10" freshman year)

Draft man, you're barking up the wrong tree with this Jeff Green kid. Overrated. He won't amount to anything, leave him alone, go away. Please? The real deal at Georgetown is the tandem of Amadou Kilkenny-"make 'em say"-Diaw and Sead "Nasty" Dizdarevic. I've heard the term "lottery" used in association with them numerous times.

Well, since we're being honest and disclosing everything, the real MVP of our season so far is Ken H to the Izzo. He's tall, lanky, and I've never seen anyone look so athletic sitting in a chair for two hours...

Yeah Izzo is our probably our most talented player. And Jeff, is only about 5"6'. The real Big East freshman of the year is Cornilo Gibunda.

Jeff Green is a really special story. He has Lou Gehrig's disease and can only be moved with the help of his teammates. He is the luckiest man on the face of the earth.

This thread is a true vision of what has happened in just 9 months. This program has become FUN again - whether it's watching (or listening to) a game or following a thread on this board which radiates nothing but positive, hopeful vibes. Thank you III -- for giving us back our Hoyas.

Amen. JT III just radiates confidence and you can see it in the players. Especially in the way they effortlessly drag Jeff Green around the floor.

Who's Jeff Green? I'm sorry, sir, but your information appears to be incorrect. Our starting power forward goes by the name Amadou Kilkenny-Diaw. Swell guy. Deceptive speed.
By the way you may want to turn your atention to some really good freshmen. Rudy Gay. Marvin Willimas. Malik Hairston. Daniel Gibson. Heard of them? Dick Vitale has.

Hey folks, thanks for all the great info...hehe
The one thing I can say I've learned from this 2-page thread is that GU fans DO think JG is an NBA type! ;D
Anyways, I write for draftcity.com, doing NCAA stuff that I relate to the draft. Today you can read an article I did, which includes a little write up on how underrated Boston College is. We aren't professionals, but do try and outwork the competition.
Not a big deal on the little questionaire, but I was hoping to get a little bit of a jump on Green...

JW - aside from all the joking, just watch a game or two. The game this Tuesday isn't televised but most of the rest are.
You'll get a jump on the major media. They are always a year or two behind.

You'll get a jump on the major media. They are always a year or two behind. Not when the players attend ACC schools.
