Wow. He's still got until April, but how incredibly good will this USC team be? They don't lose anything on offense, although the defense is somewhat gutted.

Dammit. Can anything please go right for the 49ers?
I'm not sure about this decision, does he really have anything left to conquer in college football? I'm not criticizing his decision, I'm just not sure I fully understand it. Oh well, time will tell.

Great decision, he'll never have a chance to play college football again and if being at USC is what makes him happy in life right now then good for him. Whats worth more in life, money or happiness? For me its happiness.

In Leinert's case, he didn't really have to choose b/w money and happiness-w/ his scholarship, his family is more then wealthy enough for him to stay in college (i.e. he isn't coming from a poor family that needs him to support it, but an upper middle class one), so he just had to decide which would make him happier, the NFL or staying at USC-obviously he chose college over the real world.
Though, I don't think he's gonna be that good in the NFL-at USC he's surrounded by some ridiculous recievers, an amazing line, etc. From what I saw in the bowl game, it seemed like his recievers bailed him out a lot-most of his 5 TD's were really, really good catches on poor throws, in my opinion. Take for example, Byrd's one armed, diving TD-I'd say that the fact Byrd is a really good TE was a lot more important in that play than Leinert's throw.

The person who is probably most irritated by Leinart's decision is John David Booty. I guess he'll have to settle for starting for 2 years rather than 3 (redshirted this year).

John David Booty may not start at all if they get a big time QB recruit in the meantime.

That's the deadline for underclassmen to file for entry into the draft. Good to see a sure-fire top pick stay an extra year. I'll be rooting for him, just like I did for Tim Duncan when he stayed at Wake Forest.
