i kind of answered your question? In the words of John McEnRoe, you cannot be serious. You have gone from criticizing Mike Mussina as a #2 starter, comparing him to Derek Lowe, to saying "well, he's not worth as much as Schilling, Pedro, Or Randy Johnson".
If a 2.83 ERA and 0.97 WHIP against your boys doesn't impress you, then I don't know what will. Keep on doubting Mussina. He has thrown 127 innings in 18 starts while maintaining those numbers, an average of just over 7 innings per start, while maintaining those numbers. So you have absolutely no factual basis in your belief that the Sox pound Mussina after 6. All you have given me is the first game of this year's ALCS...which is hardly a great example considering he left the game after tossing 6 and 2/3 with an 8-3 lead and a runner on first.
He has owned the Red Sox in pinstripes, and has the numbers to prove it. You've said nothing to counter those statistics.
Here are some recaps, some of these games Mussina pitched back when the Yankees rotation was "frontloaded". All of them are Mussina head to head vs Pedro Martinez. They account for more than 1/3 of the total starts Mussina has made for the Yankees against the Red Sox - 7 starts, 3 wins, 2 losses, 2 no decisions. That leaves you 11 regular season starts to establish the "mussina gets rocked by the Sox after 6" theory. Make that 10, as I failed to include the near perfect game back in 2001 at Fenway.
"You can try to convince me why I should fear Mussina, but it ain't going to work."
Only b.c you don't want to be convinced. If slapping you in the face with hard, statistical evidence is unsuccessful, then nothing will be.
Again, I'll ask you, do you even watch baseball?

Well, you kinda answered my question...but I still feel like we're discussing different points.
You can try to convince me why I should fear Mussina, but it ain't going to work.
Similarly, apparently Yanks don't have doubts about Mussina...or whether he's worth $15 million -- that's more than Pedro, Schilling, and nearly as much as RJ.
