Wow - I didn't expect the whuppin' administered by the Steelers today... Steelers make it look easy againsports.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=241107023...in a related vein, what were those ten teams that passed on Roethlisberger thinking?

If that's a speed bump, the Cowboys went into the ditch in Cincinnati. Hard to win with 40+ year old QB's these days.

Didn't want to bring that up... thought it might hit too close to home... ;D ...did you see the Pats secondary of Troy Brown, a guy named after Earth Wind and Fire, and somebody from the practice squad who wasn't even drafted smoke the Rams in St. Louis today? Yowza!

If there's one thing the Rams - correction, Mike Martz - is good at, it's losing games that are served up to him on a platter. Troy Brown caught that stupefying TD pass from Vinatieri (2 things - one, HOW CAN A GUY BE UNACCOUNTED FOR LIKE THAT? Don't they have coaches who look out for that stuff? You'd never see this in basket-- oh, nevermind...and two, I'm ticked that I won't get 6 fantasy points for a TD because I've been told that apparently in my league kickers can't get TD credit...I digress), and then nearly had an interception that, if he had gotten it, could easily have gone for six the other way. Wonder how many times that's happened. I mean, we see DBs play on offense alot, but WR in the defensive backfield? Other than the Vikings putting in Randy Moss or the Cowboys putting in Keyshawn Johnson on a Hail Mary, I've never seen that.
About your Eagles point...as an Eagles fan, I kind of figured today would be "the day". I thought the score would be big one way or the other, and was just hoping it woul dbe the other way around...Now that it's out of the way, I think the Eagles should do no worse than 13-3, and should be 14-2 by January 3rd. Not that it means anything...
Note: the three teams that drafted the top three QBs - San Diego, New York Giants, and Pittsburgh, are a combined 18-7. Nice turnarounds there (even though only Roeth...ger is playing), but I expect that the Giants will now begin to fade and finish around 9-7 or 8-8. San Diego can easily make 9-7 or 10-6, and Pittsburgh...I don't wanna talk about them. My friend is a Steelers fan and came to watch the game with me. As he left he said, "We'll see you in February". I hope he's right.

As far as Brown, desperate times call for desperate measures, and I guess when you're down to 4 and 5 on your cornerback depth chart, option 6 takes some creativity in a nickel situation. After the game, Brown basically said his main goal was to avoid impacting the game on defense. He also said that he was burned at least once or twice, but that because of the defensive pressure up front, Bulger never had a chance to react.
