Not good. Only positive I can see for her here is that she got pulled over in California. I've had a friend who got a DUI in CA, and another who got one in Washington state. My friend in CA got off rather easy, she had to do a few classes and pay a reasonable fine. She's still mortified by the situation, so lesson learned for sure. My friend in Washington had to do classes for a full year, pay a huge fine, couldn't drive for six months, etc. He is just bitter. Doesn't really reflect too much on what he did, is just more angry at the fines and the fact that he had to rely on his Mom (at 23) to drive him around than anything.

I will be sure to tell my son to be careful, when driving around Sacramento. Sorry to hear this about Rebekkah; things were going well for her.

I've represented a lot of people charged with DUI and there are definitely those who have a drinking problem and the DUI isn't that big of a deal, and there are those who have a drink with dinner or while they're out and are mortified that the made such a mistake to drink and drive and are scared straight. I hope she falls into the latter category.

Y'know this is the first time I've heard of a female athlete get in trouble for something like this. They're always so well behaved!

Yeah female athletes are far more disciplined than their male counterparts but after all, they are humans too. My uncle work for a Los Angeles DUI lawyer and told me that the number of females caught for drunk driving are far less than men.
