Georgetown women came in a strong 3rd at the 4 x 1500, bouncing back from a disappointing DMR. Good performance by the women in the 4x1500 with a time of 17:44.52 taking 3rd to Michigan (they ran away with it) and BYU, but we beat Nova.

The men did even worse (position-wise) in the DMR finishing 13th in 9:52.70. The men hope to have a good 4x1500m like the women.

In what appears to be our signature event this year, the Hoyas finished 3rd in the 4x 1mile relay, finishing behind Texas and Wisconsin, both of whom have sub-4:00 milers on the anchors. Texas won in 16:21.57, Wisconsin was 2nd in 16:23.35, while Georgetown was 3rd in 16:25.09. The times seem a little show, as, on paper, we should be able to run a 16:15.

Chris Lukezic anchored the US Blue team that came in 2nd by 0.29 s to the All-Stars in the DMR. Chris's training partner, Kevin Sullivan, anchored the Canada team to a 3rd place finish. Kenya was back in the pack (they had set a world record in this event last year, just nipping the US team). www.flashresults.com/2007_Meets/outdoor/penn/The_Penn_Relays.htmThe Penn Relays 4/26/2007 to 4/28/2007 228 Olympic Development Men Di Heat: 1 Place Bib Number Name Affiliation Time 1 9 All Star All Star 9:29.44 2 6 USA Blue USA Blue 9:29.73 3 7 Canada Canada 9:30.20 4 5 Kenya Kenya 9:31.42 5 8 USA Red USA Red 9:31.63

Splits for the men's 4x 1 mile. The weather must have been windy, because there are usually sub-4 minute miles; this time the best anchor was 4:01. Levi Miller, running the 2nd leg for the Hoyas ran about the 4th fastest leg and the fastest leg of the first three teams.
Place ID School/Affiliation Mark Runners 1 U Texas 16:21.57 Erik Stanley (4:07.4), Joe Thorne (4:03.8), Jake Morse (4:06.9), Leonel Manzano (4:03.5) 2 V Wisconsin 16:23.35 Brandon Bethke (4:07.1), Craig Miller (4:03.6), John Bolas (4:07.7), Chris Solinsky (4:05.0) 3 E Georgetown 16:25.09 Andrew Bumbalough (4:09.3), Levi Miller (4:02.1), Flect Hower (4:08.4), Matt Debole (4:05.3)
Bumbi was a bit slow. Have to look at the video to see how the race proceeded.
