HoyaNCCT, there's no doubt you can scalp tix for many
V.U. games, but tickets are NOT general admission
for the most part.
The only way they are available on gen admission is
IF the students don't purchase the south stands bloc
(about 2,400 seats).
They're availabe based on the unused tickets there.
But for most Big East games, there are not many
of these available.
Villanova sends a small number to the visiting school,
about 150. Upper N.B., the last 10 rows, is nosebleed
territory, admittedly, but that's where the lion's share
of the visiting tickets are.
Also a couple of rows right behind your bench and
scattered singles and pairs in the north section up
high.
Pretty much it.
When we're playing at least decently and are fun to
watch (healthy, this team is a real entertainment
experience), the visiting team's fans have little difficulty
knowing they're in a total road setting.
The Pavilion actually holds over 7,000 -- about 7,200,
actually, and a study is on with results coming soon,
to upgrade it to 9,000 or so.
I'm afraid we'll have to stick with the Pavilion for a while
until we've finished this very large fundraising drive and
have handled several other priorities (new engineering
building II, performing arts center, possibly 2 final
dorms). A new arena of maybe 11,000 will be about
8-9 years away. Just about time for me to AARP my
way through life!
Anyhow for those of you making the trip, enjoy (altho
I hope not the result).
Good luck to your team this year (except our dates),
I really think JT3 has it going on there and hopefully
the fire gets rekindled and Georgetown basketball
is a major player in the Big East again.
