nodak- you're right about that DJ give and go with Jeff. That was an awesome play!! Really got everyone fired up.
Also, hopefully RaMell and his family are alright and I wish them all the best in this very difficult time.

Great to see Wallace do something he rarely does. With Rutgers playing ncredibly tough defense in the first half, Wallace adapted his game by penetrating to the hole, something he rarely does.
Great clutch play on both ends by Green down the stretch.
Great to escape with a win on a night when Brandon just couldn't get it together.
Unfortunate to see Roy take a small step back...III made the right move not playing him in the second half but let's hope he improves and we don't have to leave him out of our line-up in future Big East games when we're behind.
As for the Ray Reed debate...4TO's and not much else in 11 minutes...we're going to need to find somebody who can do something off our bench.
Great three by DJ, seemingly out of nowhere.
Always happy with a win.

One other note, not sure who is doing our advance scouting, but Quincy Douby went right every time. If he couldn't get it at his first attempt, he would fake left and come back to the right. Our players got burnt on this about four to five times (he also fell after every shot) and fortunately he never got all the way to the hoop.
Seems like a little thing, but that was just one item I noted last night.

just wanted to give some credit to crawford for coming off the bench to play some defense on douby. although he gave up a 3 pt play, he made it alot tougher for douby to get easy shots. Nice contribution from a guy who hasn't been getting much run.

Douby is tough. He has great ball and head fakes; a tough guy to defend. Thank God he was in Water's dog house and did't shoot as well as he often does.

can we talk a little more about those highlights - the last 30 seconds of that clip had me near cheering out loud here in the library...i mean unbelievable - the jeff green stare down after that second rejection? I am so excited for this kid as he matures and gets better - and Owens getting some confidence in his game is EXACTLY what we need - i would love to get 30 minutes out of him each game - he has the talent for sure.

Did anyone else see, on the intentional foul against DJ, Guibunda fly off the bench, headed towards Joynes, only to need one of the assistant coaches to wrap him up and drag him back to the bench? Even though he doesn't play at all, it was great to see our bench so into the game like that. Guibunda was fired up, Sead and his cool new goatee were getting into it - these are the things we didnt see under Esh.

You know the DJ resurgence has to be about JTIII...just like Bobo. I mean was it that ridiculous for him to drift in and out of games when he was playing for a coach and program that he saw as going nowhere? Now, he finds himself in a system and with young talent and a demanding coach....just saying I think something may have been sparked in DJ and everyone better watch out.

I was worried coming into this game that Rutgers' experience against the Princeton offense would be tough to overcome. They had played the Tigers and Air Force already. It was clear in the first half that they knew how disrupt the system. I think the coaching adjustments, stepped up D and key threes by Jeff and DJ in the second half turned the tide.

The difference between Princeton, Air Force, and us, is that we have JTIII and those teams don't. We have a gem in JTIII as a coach.
