I want to thank DFW for giving me my own Georgetown track and field board, at least until the lacrosse season starts. There were some great performances at the Meyo Invitational at Notre Dame on the first night.
Women's 500m: Jayne Penn (freshman) came in 4th in the fast heat in 1:15.92 (she was 5th overall in all heats). Women's 300m: Kandance Ferguson (another freshman) came in 3rd in the fast heat (3rd overall). Women's 5000m: Marni Krupper (grad student) came in 3rd in 17:34.02. Men's 5000m: Fleet Hower finished 8th in 14:30.18. Now we come to the first really good result, as Rod Koborsi won the race in an NCAA provisional mark of 14:11.01; he won the race by over 2 seconds.
In the premier event of the evening, the Notre Dame women's distance medley relay team was going for a school record, and they decimated it by 17s and by so doing, ran an automatic NCAA qualifier in 11:07.94 (auto qualifier time was 11:15). That was nice, but they came in 2nd to the meet record setter in this event and also auto NCAA qualifier, Georgetown, in 11:07.27. Colleen Kelly, Monica Hargrove, Maura McCusker, and Treniere Clement ran the legs for Georgetown. Congratulations to the women's DMR team for a great job.
Stay tuned for more results tomorrow. GU is also supposed to have some athletes in the George Mason meet tomorrow.

What's the recruiting outlook for track-just wondering if the facilities situation is impacting recruiting in a big way

I think Georgetown only signed one female during the early signing people, but they have recruited well the past two years even with our lack of facilities.
