I was OK with it. Bret's frustration dance (ala Flashdance) had me literally laughing out loud.

I thought the last episode was great. It may not have been as funny as some others, but it did a great job of closing things out. The episode cemented why we like Jermaine and Bret--they aren't Todd and the the Crazy Dogggz, who represent everything that sucks about pop music. At the same time and for the same reason, of course, it showed why the Conchords are bound to inexorable failure in the quest to become a popular group. In the end, these intertwined themes of the episode are why there is only a select group of people who really like the show; in addition to liking the Conchords and their select brand of humor, we think that mainstream music, shows, and humor suck...or at least that's my read into the core group of Conchords watchers.
Either way, whether this was the end of the season or the end of the show, I think it ended well--the Conchords are satisfied being the Conchords.
Speaking of...anyone know if another season is planned?

Here's another one. Apparently FotC did a documentary for New Zealand TV about their trip to the South-by-Southwest music festival in 2006, shortly before the HBO deal was inked. It's pretty hilarious. Link.

So I like the new album, but I feel like they need a volume 2 for all the songs from the show they did not include. Where is Tape of Love?

Oh man, I totally saw them last week when they were in town. Mostly old stuff, but the few new songs were excellent.

Between this and Andy Samberg, I'd say comedy is out of recession.

This episode isn't actually that great, but I'll forgive it just now, since they had to bring Mel and (especially) Murray back to where they were before last season's finale.

Looks like this will be the final year of FOTC. www.stuff.co.nz/dominionpost/4675767a23882.htmlNot entirely surprising- it has to be a ton of work to put together 20 new songs and another 10-15 minutes of "plot" around them for each season. Season 1 was a lot easier because they had been working on those songs for several years- Season 2 will have to suffer in comparison, but I am sure it will still be pretty awesome.

Hey guys, where are you? Did you run away? After an admittedly weaker first episode, FOTC has been brilliant this season. Dave, Mel, and Murray have all taken it to the next level, the guest stars (Gaffigan especially) have been nice additions, Michel freaking Gondry just directed the most recent episode, probably the best of the season and one of the top 3 in the show's run.
