Buff, you have had a negative tone since before the game. So to "blame" anything on the outcome of one contest is disingenuous at best. As to "gloating" ... show me one single instance. As to only coming here because we won ... it's tough to say. I would definitely have come back, but honestly maybe not as soon. I admit. But I came back not to gloat but because I actually enjoyed this board, both the setup as well as the posters ... well most of them anyway. In any case, look on the "bright" side ... "At least" you are in Buffalo. First of all, if you had bothered to read you'd know "at least" I'm in Boston. Second, negative attitude since before the game? I seem to recall giving G'Town a chance to pull the upset. And like a good portion of my fellow HoyaTalk posters, the only problem I had pre-game with UF posters was morons like marshgator and others. Honestly, man, I have no problem with you or any other fans that come around and enjoy talking about the game itself. My only problem with you has been the priggish attitude that's come across in a bunch of your posts (and judging by both the reactions of others and PM's I've gotten from fellow Hoyas wondering why you were still an annoyance around here, I'd say I'm not alone). If that's merely a function of a "wink, wink, nudge, nudge" joke-like quality of your posts being lost in cyberspace, then mea culpa. I simply don't personally care for the "well, you guys have all the time on your hands" posts; the waste-of-time "our football program is better than yours, you can't criticize them" posts; the personal attack posts; the "Noah is God" how dare you criticize him even in jest posts; the "you guys are dumb considering G'Town is supposed to be a smart-kid school" posts; and the after-the-fact "oh, I was joking" posts. That's all. By all means stick around if you want to talk basketball. But if you're going to stray from it, expect a response. Welcome to HoyaTalk.

Uh, actually hifigator, if you paid attention, you would know that Buffalo is currently in Boston. Sorry about that goof, but I had to choose one and I went with his name. Secondly, you have no way of knowing this, but "at least" is one of my catch phrases. Just the other day a good friend of mine said something along these lines: "you know when you say 'at least' ... it's not going to be a good thing." It might be something like "we lost the game, but "at least" it started raining on the walk back to the car." That was definitely just a little attempt at light hearted humor. But "at least" you're in Buffalo makes a lot more sense along those lines that "at least' you're in Boston." Boston has too much to offer in that regard.

Can't wait for another trademark zinger from the hifi. I'm on pins and needles. His humor is so revolutionary and cutting edge, I'm not sure if I can handle it. I once had a similar reaction to Sinbad.

Incidentally, I think you are confusing Florida with the likes of Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas. By and large we are not a "hick" community at all. Don't take my word for it, this is very easy to verify. Look at videos of any of our home football games. You will see we are city folk, not country folk. As for the rest of the state, well there's an awful lot of development pretty much everywhere except the protected wetlands and the Everglades. You remember Miami Vice? and that was 20 plus years ago. Orlando, Daytona, Tampa-St. Pete, Naples, Ft Myers, Jacksonville, Clearwater, Pesacola, Panama City ... need I go on? Your view of Florida is rather ... shall we say ... a wee out of whack ... much like the rest of you.

Do you write your own material or does MrsBuffaloHoya lend a hand? Never ever ever ever ever take Erin Andrew's name in vain. How dare you, sir, how dare you. As for the rest of your point...well, I didn't read it too closely but I did see "cityfolk" and "florida development"...which caused a chuckle. However, I didn't see some other terms that should have been included like "sink hole", "corruption", "depreciating property values", "sprawling", "neauveau crap", "McMansions" and "carpet baggers." Anyways, thanks again for your stunningly entertaining post. As always, you are a pleasure and a joy -- in short, a tribute to the state of Florida.

Jacksonville - Major hole. Two words - Fred Durst Daytona - Are you serious? Orlando-Jacksonville + some entertainment outfit in Kissimmee Naples-Ft Myers - Old People Clearwater - Tampa/St Pete - Panama City - It ain't called the "redneck riviera" for nothin' I am from FL and I know there are others. Curious what FL and St pete have to say on this.

Anyways, thanks again for your stunningly entertaining post. As always, you are a pleasure and a joy -- in short, a tribute to the state of Florida. Erin Andrews is a Gator not a Hoya. As to the rest, "cityfolk" was used on purpose since that is his flawed view of us Floridians. Florida Development ... well that's not exactly how I worded it, but in any case if you don't think Florida is being developed then you haven't been here in a long time. Like I said, they are building anywhere and everywhere except the protected lands like the National Forest and the Everglades. Now as to some of your other claims: sinkhole: yes there are some The Devil's Millhopper is a rather famous one right here in Gainesville but what's your point? corruption: yes we have that too, but who doesn't? I have a hunch there might be a bit of that going on in Washington DC. Come now, are you really sure you want to "go there?" depreciating property values: you're off your friggin rocker. Property values are skyrocketing everywhere, not just the "premium" locations. sprawling: not sure what your point is here. You imply that we aren't growing and then imply we have sprawl, which is essentially nothing other than a liberals definition of growth neauveau crap: maybe in Miami, but that is thankfully one problem we don't have much of thankfully McMansions: never heard that term, but I kind of like it ... as a term to use derogatively of others

The point was not to sing the praises of these places, but just to point out that Florida is not the undeveloped country town and woods model depicted in Deliverance. Florida is in the south, yes but it is more of a melting pot if you will and as development goes, they are building everywhere you look. You are right about the old people in Naples-Ft. Myers ... but they're mostly your old people. Feel free to come take them back whenever you want. Not sure why you put after Clearwater, Tampa and St. Pete. That is a big Metropolitan area and just like any other it has its good places and its rougher parts. But one thing it certainly is, is developed. Basically, if we are complaring Florida to: Buffalo: no contest Florida wins in a landslide. How many people retire TO Buffalo? There is a reason for that. Once they don't "have" to be there, they don't "choose" to be there. Boston: big city with a lot to offer ... but I will choose Florida. I have enough friggin liberals here in the University town, I don't need to move to Massachusettes, which has given us Ted Kennedy and John Kerry. Wahsington DC: absoluted sh!thole filled with everything that's bad in the world. Your little campus can only provide so much relief.

Honestly, nothing can be gained from entering an argument over what state/district of columbia is better. The state of Florida has flaws like every state, but overall it is an amazing place to live. Its is growing extremely rapidly, has amazing weather (albeit it some pesky hurricanes), and no state taxes. So please reserve your hatred toward the UF to the city of gainesville, because your not going to win this argument.

Now as to the city of Gainesville, there is certainly a thing or two that I can complain about. Primarily it would be the crapa$$ city commission that we have. They continually come up with bad ideas. It is like they all go home at night and try to come up with the worst ideas possible. Then they get together and see who "wins" and then run with that one. One of the commissioners said flat out that traffic is bad, so we need to narrow the roads to make it worse so that people will not be willing to drive anymore and therefore walk or ride a bike. That is nonsense.

I can think of one reason to hate UF. There are a level of super-hot chicks there that would never be seen anywhere near 37th and O!
That and they have a bar there named after that stupid luke perry rodeo movie!
damn you hifi, damn you!
