I loved the Great Job Brownie line - however i thought the second half of the show dragged a little bit. Not the consistent action of last weeks which I thought was easily the best of the season. Btw, Big Love was good last night too? (how many man points do i get docked for saying that?)

Btw, Big Love was good last night too? (how many man points do i get docked for saying that?) Zero. "Big Love" is a very good show. Very well written, enough intrigue with Bill and his stores to counter the lovey-dovey at home crap. Also, the writers are doing a great job of interjecting one INSANELY uncomfortable scene every episode (Margene's admirer dropping by because he had a vision, Niki's son's b-day party a few weeks ago). Although I wish they'd write Margene's character a bit better... she's pretty hot. Oh, and I love to see Bruce Dern and Hary Dean Stanton working. Not to mention Melora Waters of Paul Thomas Anderson movies fame. Best cameo - using "Portraits by Deb" to be the eldest daughter's friend.

Not a bad episode tonight. Enjoyed it.
Now, as much as I've been down on "The Sopranos" the past few seasons, and as much as I've really enjoyed this season (totally by surprise), am I the only one who CANNOT WAIT FOR JUNE 11 and the DEADWOOD premiere?! I honestly think "Deadwood" and "The Wire" are HBO's two best shows, followed by "Oz" and "The Sopranos." Any thoughts?

I'm waiting for June 11, but for the premiere of the third season of Entourage.

I'm waiting for June 11, but for the premiere of the third season of Entourage. Yeah, yeah, yeah... me too. But c'mon. "Entourage" is merely an appetizer for the "Deadwood" main course. The only reason I don't love "Entourage" is because without Turtle or Johnny Drama (and to a lesser extent Ari) that show is trash. The two main characters are the two worst the show has to offer.

Anyone else thoroughly amused by Tony walking into the restroom and saying "You're doing a great job, Brownie" to Paulie?
I also was entertained by Father Jose, played by the same actor who played Sofia Lopez on Nip/Tuck. I saw the preview of that episode from the week before and I knew I knew that guy from a show I watch, but I couldn't place him. All I could come up with is that he played a gay character. I finally had to go to IMDB to make the Nip/Tuck link.

Who is funnier, Susie (Curb Your Enthusiasm) or Johnny Drama?

1) Can someone explain to me what happened on the first 15 minutes of Sopranos last night? - I came in and suddenly there is this stupid Paris story arc - what is up with that?
2) Is anyone as frustrated as I am that a show with 2 whackings could be that boring?
3) I disagree with the assesment that without Turtle and Johnny Drama there would be no Entourage - my 3 favorite characters are Ari, Lloyd, and E in that order.

Last night was the best episode in several weeks- the Paris story was not the best part, but the juxtaposition of some of the scenes in Paris vs. NJ was outstanding. Carmella was having some of the same questions Tony seemed to be having during his coma, while Tony was fully backsliding to his life prior to the coma at the same time. Even the light on the Eiffel Tower resembled the lighthouse in the coma sequence.
I will have to rewatch, but did anyone catch what Phil's goon said to Sil before he started on the Vito digs? I thought it was some reference to Syracuse blowing another one (obviously re: gambling). Nice touch.

yes, it was "man, Syracuse blew another one." Must be a Hoya fan among the writing staff.
The line we had to rewind a few times was the one that finally set off Sil - and the moderators probably wouldn't appreciate a reprint here. It was priceless to watch Sil swinging a dustbuster.

This was one episode i was happy to watch on replay and not in HD . . . so much i would have missed otherwise. Also loved the juxtaposition of NJ and Paris. Favorite scene was Carm gazing upon Mary and the baby Jesus. Clearly thinking of her own son. What made that even more brilliant was that the camera perfectly framed another image of the Blessed Mother and the Christ child in the stained glass behind the statue. -- it recognized Roe was thinking of her son too. Would have been better if one image was of the Pieta rather than the baby Jesus, but I guess they couldnt redo Notre Dame just for a shot .

I was just glad they didn't cut to a scene where Carm walks in on Mrs. Jackie Aprille having a late night rendezvous with that frog she met outside the church...
Also, am I the only one who's Editeded they are showing one more new episode this year (June 4) and then making us wait until 2007 before showing us 8 episodes they've already filmed?!?
To quote GOB, "C'MONNNNNNN!!!"
