My interview for EA was three weeks before I got my decision which was Dec. 14th. I was getting kinda worried because I hadn't gotten anything from Georgetown about an interview and they said that my interview was late because I was not a US Citizen. I don't know if that was correct but yeah mine was really late.

I believe mine was December 4th, 9 days before the decisions were mailed...not sure how that affected my differal, but it certainly couldn't have helped...? I know they make the final dicison on applicants about a week if not more, ahead of that final December 15th/April 1st/what have you date...

My interview was really late too - as I recall a little over 3 weeks before the decision was supposed to be mailed back.

As an interviewer, I get two groups of interviews, one in early Dec. (or late Nov. - never in the summer or early fall), and one in Jan. or Feb. Of course, the earlier ones are for Early Decision.

No interview assignments are sent out until after September 1. If you have sent in part I of your application prior to September 1, you can expect to hear something about the interview sometime that month, but do not worry if it is not until later in the month. Interviews take place throughout the process and due to the timing it is sometimes impossible to have all interviews done prior to early action file review. The lack of an interview report at early action is not held against any applicants, and there is always enough time to conduct every interview before the regular decision review is complete. Given that no one is denied at early action, no one is at a disadvantage because of the lack of a report.

I guess interviews get assigned earlier in the East.

Nevada- It is highly likely that there are not many applications from your part of the country that arrive over the summer. By September 1, there may be a total of 500 in, and the vast majority come from the East coast where people are neurotic/intense about this process. If there are only 1 or 2 applications from Nevada at that point it would not be unusual, and if there are several interviewers on your committee it may be that you have never gotten one of those few assignments. It also may be that your local chairman does not get right on the task of assigning those interviews he receives so early in the process, perhaps waiting for some critical mass before he gets around to the assignments.
