I almost went to that game with my roommate, except we decided against it that morning when it was like 20 degrees outside and looked like it was gonna rain.
"they are calling him "beavis" vasquez on their board and have been Editeding and moaning about him all summer. it makes me chuckle. i told them a g-town education should require a more creative nickname than "beavis"." -TerpSportsReport.com Message Board
That box score must have been provided by the BU announcers. Apparently, Kenny Mitchell caught only one pass, for 45yds and a TD, with a long of 3yds.
Nice work, Hoyas! Congrats on opening the season 1-0. I'm so Editeded that I had to meet people for dinner during the second half. All I caught was the 2d Cangelosi interception and return. Fortunately, I'll be able to go back to the Bucknell page to watch the highlights 99 more times in the next year.
Edit: Aren't I the idiot - Mitchell's stats reflect the 'advanced fumble' he recovered.

are these guys retarded? they think that if you try to kick on 1st down and get it blocked, you get 3 more tries? i am embarrassed to be hearing this.
Here's what happened...I am almost certain:
The ball never crossed the line of scrimmage, so it was free to be recovered by anyone. Since Bucknell recovered, it simply became second down. The mistake was that the clock operator stopped the clock with two seconds left and it should have kept running. The ruling was that time expired and it went into OT.
I was fortunate enough to be there and it was among the two or three most exciting sports moments that I have witnessed in person. That includes watching the 'Skins' win their first NFC championship under Gibbs at RFK over the Cowboys.
I will be in Worcester and if after the coaches beat these kids up for their mistakes for a few days, they will be smarter, more experienced, not overly confident and still hungry. It could be fun...
