Nope, the road is being moved west, in order to make room for the Multi-Sport facility. By the end of August, the new road should be open, and it will run near where the old on ran, but closer to the power plant and yates.

It's hard to not get excited by those July 11 photos. Even partially completed, the team and the fans should really get pumped by what is happening at Harbin Field. Should help with recruiting, too.

Don't mention "recruiting" and "facilities" in the same sentence around these parts, Pop. There are those who will destroy you for that supposed blaspheme.

I think Pop is completely correct - with these improved facilities we should have a BCS bid in no time.

I guess I'm gonna cancel the reservations for my January trip to Pasadena. ;D

They started rolling out the turf yesterday. They have about 20-40 yards of it down as of yesterday evening.

Bird - is it plain green turf as some of these fields are to which you then add chalk for whatever lines you desire, or is it a pre-painted turf that some of the other companies use that has a whole clusterf--- of lines on it?

It was just plain green--I didn't see any lines on it.

No lines help because we can change them when lax season rolls around. BTW, I know that the way to change the lines on grass is to let it grow and then cut it. How do you change the lines for turf? I mean it always stays the same and we definetly can't cut it. Do we paint over it with green and then paint the lax lines?

From what I know about FieldTurf/AstroPlay/whatever the vendor calls it, you can either continually paint over it, throw down multiple lines for the different sports with permanent paint, or chalk it (which is heavily suggested against - from what I understand - considering what goes into these fields, plus the little rubber pellets that act as shock absorbers would make the field look like it had been permanently snowed on once those got kicked around).

The next set of photos will be great. Was at the Faculty Club today and saw the field from Leavey, the field now has the G logo in the middle of it. Can't wait to see them online.

We should do blue and grey checkerboard endzones.

That would be cool. I wonder if we could write "Georgetown" on the endzones. Is it too long a word tho?

It is fairly long - it barely fits on the field in NCAA 2006 ...

The "G" they have at the 50 yard line looks awesome. It's blue w/ a grey outline. It looks really cool. Hopefully they do something as cool in the endzones.

Well, if we take a look at the plans they have been executed to form so far with the Blue G outlined in Gray. So I would assume that we're looking at blue endzones with Georgetown written in white, but who knows. I'd prefer Georgetown written in Gray. guhoyas.collegesports.com/genrel/032305aab.html?pic=0Also, front of GUHoyas.com has a pic of the G Logo.
