I haven't heard anything about how things are looking with: 1) Student Sales 2) Overall Sales Anyone have any info? Thanks! Several hundred student tickets sold by Hoya Blue. Several hundred more purchased directly through the athletic department. Cannot divulge numbers, usually the exact values are kept pretty close to the belt. But things are going well. The fact that there is no limit to the number of sales has caused many students to put off their purchase for the time being, but we anticipate a great deal of sales in the upcoming weeks especially with Midnight Madness coming up.

I just ordered mine yesterday, spoke with a couple of nice fellows in the ticket office. Section 217.. Though, with 1700 miles between my house and Verizon, I'm not certain how many home games I will attend.
Just proud to say I'm a season ticket holder!
Go Hoyas!!

Ticket sales must be going pretty well, because I just got tickets today, and the best available they had were in section 115 on the lowest level and 220 in the club level. There were no Hoop Club section seats available, and the donation level to get to the top of the waitlist was quite substantial. I'm guessing that means that regular sales are going quite well, and since it's another 2 months until the season starts, I bet the entire 100 and 200 levels will be sold out with season tickets, and pushing from there into the 400s.
I just moved back to the DC area, and I think I missed the boat on landing lifelong great seats by about 1-2 years. Oh well, but I'll take the tradeoffs.

A month or two ago I sent deposit money to "reserve" my seats for the upcoming season. At the time, they weren't actually offering the season itself, presumably because the schedule wasn't set. I also paid my HHC contribution. But I haven't heard anything since. Should I have?

I'm in the same situation and your post reminded me/worried me a bit, so I called the ticket office and was told that I should expect an invoice in about 2 weeks. So have no fear, the ticket office is on its game.

I have it on fairly good authority that with the exception of a few single seats, the entire lower bowl has been sold to season ticket holders (student and otherwise) and has been for weeks. There is indeed a wait list and you have to pay just to get on it. I believe they may have even opened up some of the 400 sections up above for season tickets (I may have that wrong, however). I don't know the formula, but we have reached the season ticket threshold where the Big East will allow us to put put the seats allotted to opposing fans up in the nosebleeds (they used to be on the wings). Needless to say, we ought to have the best home court since moving to the Verizon Center. Opposing fans are going to have to obtain seats from season ticket holders if they want to be close to the action.

This reminds me - if you have season tickets - don't sell them to opposing fans. If you know people that are doing that sitting next to you - tell Steve Alleva about it. Let's keep the lower bowl and mezzanine gray.

Easier said than done. I frequently found myself surrounded by opposing fans last year in section 110.

I've never done it, nor would I consider it, but I am curious.

I don't see how it could be, since IIRC there has been joint promotion between GU and stubhub.

It's a free market - there are no rules. Unfortunately. If I see anymore opposing fans in Section 100 with me next year, I'll have a fit.

And thus the question: if Florida ended up on our home schedule one year, and hifi started asking around here for tickets, would you sell to him?
If so, you are dead to me.

Actually, there are rules and teams (and schools?) can restrict what you do with the tickets you purchase. If the New England Patriots (and other teams) can do it, why can't Georgetown: tinyurl.com/2so9cj"Patriots spokesman Stacey James said the tickets owned by retired NFL star Smerlas were being taken away for "violations of team policies." James declined to be more specific, but the Patriots prohibit season ticket holders from reselling their tickets to third parties except through the team's own ticket exchange, where sellers are required to charge face value."

Last year I sold my tix on stub hub for a game like Georgetown said I should and ended up selling them to fans West Virginia fans. I was mad, I didn't want to sell them to the guy but I was obligated.

If you are going to miss a game, try to sell to fellow Hoyas first, and if you fail, then call the ticket office and donate the tickets back to Georgetown -- they will put a hoya in your seat and will send you a tax receipt!
