According to his AAU coach Paul Gripper, Jabril Trawick has been offered by Georgetown.
Guard at Abington Friends in Jenkintown, PA, which is in the Philly area.
His Scout profile lists him at 6'4", while his ESPN profile lists him at 6'0".
Previous offers: Fairfield, Drexel, La Salle, Robert Morris, Richmond, Delaware, and VCU.
From Scout:
Jabril scored 18 points, had four steals and produced three blocks in a battle against The Academy of New Church, a team that features highly ranked Rakeem Christmas and Savon Goodman.
Trawick's effort, in front of several high major division one coaches, helped AFS claim a 60-49 victory over ANC.

Doubt he has a real offer, but he is someone we're monitoring as a possible late addition like a benimon type signing.

Would hope we could do better than a Bennimon type.

Literally the first thing I thought of (along with your posts on the matter) when I saw the report that we "offered". Typical Georgetown "Who? " type recruit that we've seen over the last few years ala Sanford, Benimon, Nikita, etc. It's possible that this is a guy who thinks he has an offer but doesn't, or who knows he doesn't yet but wants to get his name out there... but stranger things have happened (remember Wattad was a fall commit). I'd be surprised if Trawick commited any time soon, but as Ranch has said, I do think we'll probably end up with 1 or 2 commits who we're not talking about right now when all is said and done. And again that's not necessarily a bad thing, as nobody was talking about guys like Sanford or Bowen until very late in the game and they both seem to be players.

If he had a firm offer from us, he would commit NOW (take a look at the other schools on his list).

Bowen had major interest--was committed to Marquette and Florida State, Florida showed interest, Wake Forest, etc....
Sanford was being recruited by Baylor (who might evaluate talent better then anyone right now), UGA with Mark Fox was looking at him, UVA, USF, Cincinnati, Kentucky under Gillespie was going to have him go to Prep, so he had some looks but I know what you mean RB and honestly--it's too early to be reaching for project.
Trawick is more Benimon and it's far too early to be reaching. If this is direction Georgetown is heading-they are in for a bad year recruiting. Not trying to be negative--just being honest.

Maybe he isnt random dude now, a look at those offers from that article are some high major schools...FSU, NCst, UVA, Alabama, Cincy.....maybe the kid grew into a body that makes him a high major type. If he is really 6'6 maybe he still has a 6'0 guard skills at that new height...I could see that getting the interest of JT3

georgetown.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1108979Senior Jabril Trawick is one of the hottest names coming out of the July evaluation period. The 6-foot-5, 200-pounder played with Team Phenom, and played in tournaments in Myrtle Beach, S.C., Aiken, S.C., Las Vegas, and Philadelphia, during July. The offers kept pouring in for the Jenkintown (Pa.) Abington Friends School Standout. Trawick is claiming offers from over 20 schools, including several ACC and Big East colleges, including NC State. "July has changed my recruitment a whole lot," said Trawick, 18, who is thinking about majoring in sports management. "I went from having five offers to like 20-plus. Honestly, I hadn't really played in front of a lot of college coaches. Basically, I played in some tournaments that had a lot of college coaches watching. I just did what I do in any game that I would play at." The first wave of new offers came after the Big Shots Tournament in Myrtle Beach. Georgetown and Florida State were the last schools to offer Trawick.

I think III is attracted to the toughness and the close proximity to Amile, Rak, Savon and other Philly cats. It can't hurt...

A sports management major?

This sounds promising. A 6'5" guard from Philly, that is quoted as listing GTown 1st and might choose this week. How does the board feel about this kid?

to be fair georgetown doesn't technically have either of the 2 maors he expresses interest in. He could go to the MSB and be a regular management major.
But in all honesty I doubt lack of a certain major has ever made a basketball player's decision for them.
