With Melo out, his role is significantly increased. Got 34 mins against K St. But I know what you mean.

I'd be a lot more worried if Nerlens were tweeting Laurie Fine.

I thought you guys would get a kick out of this. I am a Met fan, too, so unfortunately, I cross pathes with Syracuse fans in those boards as well. It is what it is. But, here is a recent post about Noel. --- xxxx wrote: Great NYT article about NN. He's got some bad people surrounding him... www.nytimes.com/2012/03...agewanted=print“The risk to him is that through poor choices on his part or his family’s part,” Clements said, “he would jeopardize the potential to participate in a college program with integrity and that would be of concern were that to be the case.” That is exactly why he'll choose Syracuse. Plus he's already friends with next year's starting PG, Michael Carter-Williams and has played AAU ball with Rakeem Christmas. Syracuse has had its issues (blown up by ESPN), but they're not even close in terms of integrity compared with Kentucky. Calipari is a used car salesman and leader of an NBA farm team. Boeheim grooms boys to leave as men, and teaches loyalty and integrity. ---

Yeah I saw a post over on an SU board about how great their chances were with NN because of the "values and morals" of his family. They are at some absolutely uncharted levels of denial - or maybe it is just ignorance.

A very well connected and GREAT Source passed this info onto me regarding the "mysterious" Cuse interest with Noel. Funny how a few exchanges and info get passed and you can uncover a bit more then what it appears. Errol Randolph, the guy profiled in the Pete Thamel article on Noel as a substitute teacher at Everett HS (Nerlens original HS) and quoted as saying, "Nerlens marches to the beat of his own drummer", helped place Nerlens at Tilton. Seems harmless right? Well Mr. Randolph who is a lifelong Syracuse fan just happened to accompany Nerlens to his visit to Syracuse for the UConn game this year, happens to live in Miami now--and is a "self employed talent evaluator/scout". Didn't Nerlens happen to take a trip down to Miami this weekend for...... Interesting the in-homes are taking place this week and field is getting narrowed down and low and behold Nerlens just happens to hop down to Miami to get away--and sure it's just a minor coincidence that Mr. Randolph happens to live down there. Wonder how Pete Thamel didn't dig this info up for a further update of the recruitment, since he was hellbent on trying to imply dirt with CAA and Calipari---or is Syracuse above any wrongdoing? Not like they have had any issues arise lately is it?

Ug. It's interesting that, yeah, Syracuse is also dirty and (shocking!) a journalist didn't do his homework, but....that also worries me.
Perhaps Syracuse is a lot better positioned than some of us think?

The NCAA is an embarrassment. Where are the NCAA sanctions for all of Syracuse's miscues, by the way!

Not like they have had any issues arise lately is it? If this kid picks Cuse, I give up. Kentucky I can see and totally understand, but I cannot, for the life of me, comprehend why this kid would go to Cuse. The only reason I can imagine is because it the closest to home (though not so close as to make a big difference) and he has a friend or two that play(s) for Cuse. That's it. Sometimes, though, I think we have to step out of our 25-35-45-55-65-75-85(hi ed!) shoes and into the shoes of a 17 year old teenager and realize that not all decisions are based on the same reason or logic that we would apply in making this type of decision. Hang out in CNY and spend a year with my buddies hoopin' might be as good a reason as any for a 17 yo to make a certain decision. I'd say I wish the kid well but can't make any promises if he selects Cuse.

I'm sure Pat Forde / Charles Robinson would love to write another Syracuse, especially if Noel lands there. If he's going to go there, I want everyone to know why. Maybe it'll be the last straw and get their program killed.

Oh good grief. Like Brasky said, if he goes there, I give up.
Was much more hopeful when UNC got dropped and the other two got in homes. But with this latest info for context, crap.

Calipari was going to visit his mother since they hadn't met before, wouldn't look into that part of it.
