So whats the story on him? We were on his list early on? Is it too late to get it done?

This guy is still around? It would seem to me like he thinks he's a one-and-done. To use or not to use a scholarship, that is the question. For the recruiting gurus, what's the word on his attitude?

With the performance he turned in during the Pre Draft camp...I think everyone knows he's far away from being a one and done. Still...he's 7'2 and at one point was top 10 in the nation. I'd take that chance.

He's not 7'2. He measured out closer to 6'10.

He measured in at 7 ft. with shoes on with almost a 7'9 wingspan and a standing reach that they couldnt even measure...once again i'll take that

Like I wrote...closer to 6'10. Yes, he does have a tremendous wingspan. He also hass very little skill and was overrated by most accounts. Now if you want to bring him in for a year just to have an extra big body that's all well and good. But this is a guy who is going to want to be featured in the offense in order to improve his draft stock. He is not yet though good enough to be featured that way in III's offense. That's a major potential conflict. And then there will be the headache of his handlers who will insist they know what's best for the kid more than JT III does.
Maybe it would be worth it.

Kind of a shame what's happened to this kid. Perhaps this smack of realization will change things around for him and he'll realize that he needs to head to a school where he'll be able to develop his abilities. Obviously just one of those cases where he's got the wrong people whispering in his ear. This would be a good opportunity for him to start fresh.

I wouldn't touch him with a 6'10 or 7'0 pole. With JTIII's scheme, I would not take a chance with a one and done or even a 2 and done. There are numerous student/athletes that value a quality education and performing in a quality program. Understanding that they will be in the NCAA every year and with the chance of a NCAA championship. I am completely satisfied with JTIII's recruitment judgement.....I will be purchasing my Old Spice tickets soon. Hope to see you guys. Go Hoyas

How could he have "showed bad" at NBA Pre Draft Camp when he was injured and unable to play? The injury problems he's had with his legs/knee have hurt him a great deal this year. He's going to stay at IMG Academy in Florida.

Draftexpress wrote something about his looking bad in drills and workouts just before he got hurt and how it was unfortunate he left folks with such a negative impression of his game.

i love it when a 29 year old isnt ready for the nba due to chronic knee problems stemming back to his 1979 mishandled "C-section" birth.
j/k.... best of luck to this "kid"

I believe he signed with an agent as well so to pull him must be really telling that he wasn't getting drafted and they could just let him work out for another year. This kid will probably end up in Europe if he is lucky.
