Kendall Marshall shouldn't be there.
And how did Pinkston make it over Lubick?

yeah they basically seem to have chose pinkston over lubick and ferguson who are ranked right next to pinkston. I guess they went with Nova over Gtown and FIU.

It's going to be fun watching Kendall Marshall turn into a less athletic version of Derrick Phelps. He's not even the best point guard in the metro area, much less a mickey d's kid.

The older I get, and the more I actually get out to see a lot of these kids play, I honestly couldn't care less how many McDonald's All-Americans the Hoyas sign.
I've seen both Marshall and Starks extensively, and we got the better player.

Not really understanding the bashing of Marshall. Have any of you seen him play? His hoops IQ is through the roof. Although Roy is having a rough year this season, I think he clearly knows what he's doing in terms of recruiting premier talent.

Also worth noting that Marshall plays in one of, if not the best, high school leagues in the country. The IAC on the other hand is pretty bad.

Arlington,
To answer your question, it's because Marshall's been overrated for going on three years.
He's got great size for the position, he's left-handed and he can pass his behind off. Those are his positives, along with his basketball IQ.
But he's horribly slow, doesn't shoot that well from the perimeter, doesn't blow by people off the dribble and just isn't a great player because great players at the high school level, no matter how good the league, get their teams more wins than he's gotten his team this season.
Right now, I'd take Starks, Cook and Ross over Marshall and keep it moving. How's it going to look, him making the mickey d's team and not first team all-met? It seems as if there's more people than just on this board who thinks he's not the player he's made out to be nationally.
And yes, I've seen him play. Extensively.

Yeah I'm not sure he's the answer for UNC. He's not athletic or fast. They need their PG to out race people and penetrate. Not sure Marshall's that guy.

Marshall is the perfect example of an early bloomer that was hyped as early as middle school as the next big thing, but others have caught up to him physically, and many people - not just on this board - are seeing that he's a good player, but nothing special.
Not bashing the kid at all, but it's almost funny to me that he can be regarded as one of the top players in the country, when he's not even the best player at his position in the area.
And yes, I've seen him play ... A LOT.

Did I miss something, Josh Selby is no longer headed to Tennessee? What happened? The kid is a stud for sure.

He de-committed over the summer, and when Bruce Pearl was out of the country. Hilarious.
Indiana wants him, Kentucky wants him and UConn's trying hard, although the Huskies want Brandon Knight, (a freaking stud), and Corey Joseph, (another freaking stud), more than Selby

Did the Hoyas have any interest in Selby at any time?

Did the Hoyas have any interest in Selby at any time? I don't know, but unfortunately, he had no interest in Georgetown

Not surprised that neither of our guys made it (and where is Roscoe!?!?!). Lots of politics (there are a good handful of guys in the game who probably shouldn't have made it). Wait for the Jordan game...
I agree with those who have already posted that Marshall is overrated. Good bball IQ but he isn't that athletic.
Selby is the real deal.

Also worth noting that Marshall plays in one of, if not the best, high school leagues in the country. The IAC on the other hand is pretty bad. Doesn't matter. Starks would be killing in the WCAC. Marshall isn't. This is two straight subpar seasons in a row for Marshall and once again Bishop O'Connell is turning out to be an afterthought in the WCAC. Marshall has talent, he has great vision. But he's slow, can't really shoot, can't really score. He's a Third World Poor's Man Jason Kidd who isn't elevating his high school team. Bishop O hasn't been the same since Jason left for the Hilltop. If Marshall is as great as folks claim he should be elevating that team more.
