gona be a tough one up in the carrier dome....they'll be wanting revenge and I'm sure the play will be rocking. I hope we can solve some of our issues this week in practice. Let's go Hoyas!

Historically we shoot poorly in domes (both in the hostile Carrier Dome and the somewhat neutral Georgia Dome), going inside with our game will be crucial if we want success.

Not to mention if we want to have the ultimate post season sucess we have to learn to play in domes (twice actually if we get the Midwest bracket and have to play in Ford's Field for the regional)

I am less confident about a win in this game than any so far this season.

Which, of course means that they will play really, really well.

The good news: We won't see any press. They've only got six guys.

The bad news: All 2-3 zone, all the time

Is Jardine going to get any regular minutes the rest of the year? Only 4 in 2 games after that brutal suspension ::)

SU will not press the Hoyas like Louisville and Nova did, so the guards will be able to run the half court offense. This game will be decided by the play of Summers and Freeman. At least one of these guys has to have a big night. SU's zone will make it hard to get the ball to Roy.
I know JT3 will start Freeman at small forward, but that puts Summers on Dante Green and I don't think he can handle him down low.

As a Syracuse fan, I concur. BUT I don't mind if he's jacking up threes against your hoyas because he is more than due for a big game.

Also, look for Paul Harris to have a monster game. He has taken his game to another level lately and has had fire in his eyes for the last two weeks or so on the court. BEWARE HOYAS!

Have we ever even had a cuse fan on the site? This is astounding. They've learned to log onto the internet and produce complete sentences. They are much more advanced than we believed. This does not bode well for the future.

I hope we beat em by 35 and silence the crowd early...but I fear this is going to be another ugly one that will just be a battle of attrition. Get them in foul trouble, then pull away against their reserves.

The key to the game I think is Roy's hedging on screens. Last time, as we all know, Roy seemed to run out like a madman on every screen and we got burned repeatedly. When we stopped doing that, we let Jeremiah shut down Flynn. We have to do that same thing, and Roy can't do what he did against L'ville early on where he came out way too far. Outside of that all they got is contested 3's by Greene. I'll let him have his 15 if he's going to shoot 3-100 again.

greene is a chucker at best. he loses many more games for syracuse than he wins. flynn is the key. when he plays well, they usually win. when he doesn't, they lose. he's shooting 47% in big east wins and 36% in losses.

I'm not really worried about the dome throwing off our shooters, mainly because our shooters are already off --we've only shot 40% from behind the arc 3 times so far in BE play--Rutgers, St. Johns and UConn.

Who knows? Maybe their depth perception being off will actually help them make it!

BTW-in our two BE losses, we shot under 20% from behind the arc. If we can avoid doing that, and we don't get 3 pointer happy against the 2-3, we should be fine.

JT3 should look at how uconn attacked the 2-3. they did a great job getting the ball to the foul line and the short corner baseline. they completely tore the 2-3 apart in the 2nd half.

Did anyone realize that the Providence game is Monday at 4pm? Interesting. I guess the boys will be spending President's Day weekend in the northeast.

How do I tell my boss I'm leaving early? Maybe it's time to test the videoconference room.
