Heard there was a reception at Clydes after the game and that a big announcement in regards to the practice facility was to be unveiled. Anyone attend or know what was discussed? This might be posted somewhere else but I couldn't seem to find it anywhere.

Lee Reed spoke about the diection of GU athletics. He said that the capital campaign was put on hold for several years because of the poor economy but it will begin now. He put athletics in the context of the University's broader goals and endowment growth. The training facility os the athletic department's highest priority and will run $50 million (I think). It will be built on the current tennis courts. The building will contain a practice court, training room and hydrotherapy facility. Reed called it essential to being able to continue to field strong teams.
He also said the University was working on the plan to have a baseball facility in Alexandria and looking to upgrade the soccer field and identify an alternate site for tennis.
Nice spread from Clydes. Excellent sliders and calamari.

Lee mentioned a 2014 target date but I cannot recall whether it was for the MSF or the practice facility.

we in here talking about practice. I mean, listen, we're talking about practice, not a game, not a game, not a game, we talking about practice. Not a game. Not, not ... Not the game that I go out there and die for and play every game like it's my last. Not the game, but we're talking about practice, man.

but what about the tennis teams?
My undersstanding from someone involved in the Hoya Netters is that courts on the roof of the facility are a part of the plan.

that's what a rendition of the building showed. Hope they put a bubble on top to keep the balls in.
