There was no way JTIII knew that was what they were going to come out with...the players should have recognized the 1 on 1 with the hot hand. Nate needed to come help sooner and JV needed to stay put for the off side rebound

His squads are always soft, especially when you take away the Esherick recruited kids. We play pretty, soft, Ivy league basketball in a man's conference. Disappointed in this program after sitting in South Bend last week, watching a bunch of garbage against DePaul, and watching a bunch of gutless basketball tonight.

JTIII is a good coach but he does not recruit well enough for us to be a factor.

Bronxie,
Son, you're killing me. Not the best team since 89 hoyas? People get all giddy because we beat bum ass Memphis, but now they jumping ship. We lost because Freeman had an off game. He missed that 3 when were were up 51-50.

When you look at the recruits coming into the BigEast next year... you can say again JTIII doesn't recruit well.......
When was the last time we had some one like Hardy!!! and he may not start next year for St.Johns.

Clark got beat by a great player. And he still put up a brick. A box out would have been nice. We lost on the road in the big east, happens all the time. Saw a ton of improvement and am proud of Nate, Henry, Julian, Vee, and Hollis. Austin and Chris had an off night and we almost won on the road to a great team. Even though we lost I thought we played a million times better than against ND or Depaul.

JT3 teams have underachieved every year accept the final 4 season.

Agree with you Bronx. And putting our worst perimeter defender (Clark) on the dribbler is the icing on the cake. Anyone but him should've been on the ball. When two big men have to help because you got beat so bad off the bounce, there was really no way that wasn't going to be an offensive putback.

College basketball is littered with all these top 100 recruits every year.

Yea we could have lost to teams like St. Bonaventure too but we didn't. Crazier things have happened. That SJU team is a great team, I think a tournament team, and I completely expected that team to blow up this year. They have had some weird games but crazier things have happened in college basketball. You are all a bunch of trolls who need to go back to your troll holes. We played a hard fought game, came back, had the lead, and will beat this team next time we play them. If Austin Freeman having his 1 off night of the year is our biggest problem then I'm fine with that. JT3 will continue to recruit McDonalds all americans and talented big men and we will shove it in your face trolls!

JTIII will keep us top 25ish and 18-11 every year most of the time but that is our ceiling.

JT3 teams have underachieved every year accept the final 4 season. Wooooo is that off base. The '06 team did not underachieve. Hell, the '08 team didn't underachieve, it's all revisionist history because of the Davidson loss. I do not like this version of the Hoya team. I am no fan of what we've put out there, and that goes back to when we were 11-1. I can have several fellow alums attest to that. But this crap needs to stop. I get constantly angry when reading posters who would like to coddle this team and offer no facts or statistics to counter the weaknesses that this team constantly displays. But then we lose, and we get the "sky is falling" crowd who want to gleefully draw grand historical parallels from each game. The '05 team has nothing to do with this team. The Roman Empire did not collapse because Jason Clark does not display good lateral movement thereby making him a bad defender. We are a deeply flawed team this year. We will undoubtedly have some more big wins and some stinker losses, just like last season. But will people please concentrate on analysis of the team on the court and their play, the strengths and weaknesses they show. This sort of comment detracts from posters who are down on this year's team but have specific reasons for being so.

I know one thing we lose the same way every time. Our kids are soft and nonathletic year in year out. As they say in Bronxie's home country......BASTA YA!!!

Sadly again this year Bronxie cares more than the players. It is time to sacrifice some fundamentals for some athleticism.

If Austin Freeman having his 1 off night of the year is our biggest problem then I'm fine with that. JT3 will continue to recruit McDonalds all americans and talented big men and we will shove it in your face trolls! OK, you're pretty much calling all of us on here trolls because it seems like we're all pretty Editeded off about how poorly the team has played, not just this game but for several games, and for that matter, several YEARS. This was not one off night for Austin. He got 21 against ND because we kept fouling and letting him pad stats in the final 3 minutes when the game was clearly over. He ran up a decent point total against the woefully bad Depaul, but he didn't look impressive. And tonight, he looked helpless. Even if this was his "1 off night of the year," that isn't our biggest problem! Our biggest problem is that the team—as a whole—looks like garbage for long stretches every game. And for those of us who follow this team closely year in and year out, it's like deja vu after the past two seasons. But then we get the same word vomit from the coach about how tough the BE is. And we get Tweets from our stars about how they can "take anyone off the dribble." And then the next game comes along, and, rather than taking anyone off the dribble, we run out the shot clock coming out of timeouts and launch up 45-foot threes that clang off the rim all night. Look, I get frustrated when "trolls" show up. The people with 14 posts who rolled in here after the Temple game were trolls. After this game, you're seeing some of the real fans get very very frustrated, and I think there's good reason for it. You may disagree, and that's your prerogative.
