Liz Clark Pregame article: tinyurl.com/yksynrf "I'm honored to follow people of that -- people that were so good here," Monroe said. "But I don't compare myself to them. I just come out and try to do things for my team. The things they accomplished and did and went on to do great things at a high level -- me, just being here two years, I can't put myself in the same category as those players.'

Game Preview EXCERPT Thus far, the Hoyas have been the dominant team in the Big East tournament, with two blowout wins and one upset. Throughout the regular season, Georgetown was too inconsistent to live up to their potential, but that has changed thus far in March. As such, no one will now be surprised if this eighth seeds steals the championship. www.associatedcontent.com/article/2787494/big_east_tournament_2010_championship.html

Q. I have a question for Chris: Chris, why did you foul with 27 seconds to go in a tie game? CHRIS WRIGHT: I made a mistake.
Gotta love the honesty and the direct response.
He immediately made up for it on next possession.
I love this kid -- and the entire team!

NY Times -- Pete Thamel www.nytimes.com/2010/03/14/sports/ncaabasketball/14bigeast.html?ref=sportsExcerpt Although Georgetown failed to win the program’s eighth Big East tournament title, the eighth-seeded Hoyas might have improved their stock more than any team. By upsetting top-seeded Syracuse and then blowing out No. 5 Marquette, Georgetown is now projected as high as a No. 3 seed in the N.C.A.A. tournament.
“We’re playing well,” Georgetown Coach John Thompson III said. “I like where we are going into the N.C.A.A. tournament.”

NY Times - Keving Armstrong www.nytimes.com/2010/03/14/sports/ncaabasketball/14eastside.html?ref=sportsExcerpt Even with the defeat, Georgetown, which lost four of its last six regular-season games, put together a consistent stretch of play with three wins at Madison Square Garden. There is now a clearer sense of what the Hoyas can sustain in a survive-or-desist scenario. Georgetown is expected to be as high as a No. 3 seed in the N.C.A.A. tournament when the field is announced Sunday.
“We know we can play with anyone,” Thompson said. “We didn’t learn that coming out of this tournament, we knew that.”

Obviously, I think we were all upset in that spot, but things happen in the game of basketball. Chris picked himself up RIGHT AWAY and FIXED IT to the extent he could. There's something about how Chris is playing right now that I cannot quite explain but is great to watch. It just seems like he's a pitbull and is so hungry but is just letting his play show it. That dunk in the first half was flat out nasty and belongs in our pregame video next season. The sideline save assist was another play - just heads up/hungry basketball. Hope the Committee does not job us like they did in 2008.
